Los hongos muchas veces tienen relaciones simbióticas con los árboles, en donde ambos se benefician aportando nutrientes el uno al otro. Ese no es el caso de este hongo (Desarmillaria tabescens), que es parasito de las raíces de los encinos, álamos y otros árboles, causando la descomposición de la raíz y en ocasiones la muerte de estos árboles. ••••• Fungi many times have symbiotic relationships with trees in which both benefit from nutrient exchange. That’s not the case for this fungi. Desarmillaria tabescens is a parasite of oaks, poplars and other trees. It causes the Armillaria root rot disease, which sometimes leads to the death of the tree.
