Our own Dr K**e Cuan has been recognized as a member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences (Academia Mexicana de Ciencias) due to his contribution to academia and the scientific development of Mexico as per his efforts in the field of solid mechanics. To be a member of this distinguished institution, Dr K**e Cuan was evaluated in various fields, including, leadership in projects, scientific production, human resources development and academia.
We would like take this opportunity to congratulate Dr K**e Cuan for this prestigious achievement!

⚙️ Andrés Barker (on campus job e impresión 3D de muestras)

During the recent summer (may to July), our PhD student Diana Rmz ( ) did a short research stay at the FEMTO-ST Institute in France 🇫🇷. During this, Diana worked on the design of metamaterials with non-localities to tune the direction dependency of their mechanical properties. This under the supervision of Dr Muamer Kadic and his group. This experiences allowed Diana to widen her research topic and skills to new horizons, bring to the lab not only one international collaboration but also new knowledge!

Happy to share our latest publication on and characterization. In this work by Gus Espejo, curved structures were designed to be made from cellular arrangements and additively manufactured. The mechanical properties were characterized by means of models and experimental . Cellular samples, when mechanically characterized, are made into simple cubic samples. This, while useful, does not bring a full picture of what can be expected in more complex macro shapes. In this paper we aimed to understand what happens at least in a slightly more complicated shape.
