Today, we proudly celebrate the remarkable journey of Blueridge alumnus Mauricio Torres-Martinez, MD, MPH.
As the first Monterrey native and only the third Mexican to be named a Sommer Scholar at Johns Hopkins University, Mauricio has distinguished himself as a leader in global public health.
His research on road safety, injury prevention, and public health systems has contributed to international initiatives alongside organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Most recently, his work was recognized in a United Nations General Assembly report on global road safety.
More than an impressive list of achievements, Mauricio’s story reminds us of the power of purpose, perseverance, and service to others.
We are proud to call you a Blueridge alumni.
Congratulations, Mauricio.
