Instituto Metropolitano Estrella, A.C. (IME) is a Christ-centered, multi-denominational community that provides a quality, affordable education in English, primarily for missionary children in the Mexico City area, with the purpose of preparing them to enter institutions of higher learning in the United States. A secondary purpose is the provision of meaningful, quality social outlets for both students and parents. It is important to note that the school is not accredited with SEP, the accrediting board of the Mexican school system. As a result, it may be difficult to receive credit at a Mexican school for studies done at IME. IME was established in 1987 by missionary families for their children. It began as a homeschool co-op and has evolved to now use a variety of curriculum with traditional classroom instruction. IME is independent in its ownership and is associated with ACSI--Association of Christian Schools International.

🌱 Our first SEL session at IME!

This year we began our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program — Formación del Corazón. 💛

Through SEL, we want to intentionally help our students develop important life skills: understanding and expressing emotions, showing empathy, communicating well, resolving conflict, and learning to care for one another.

At IME, we’ll explore and practice these skills while connecting them with what Scripture teaches us about loving God and loving others.

And we started with a foundational idea:

“We are a community.” 🫶

We want our students to know that they belong, that others matter, and that each of us has a part to play in building a caring community.

We’re excited to see how these conversations begin shaping the hearts of our students and the culture of our school! 🌱💛

At IME, learning goes beyond memorizing facts. Science Fair gives students the opportunity to investigate, discover, and share what they have learned with others.

This year, we were especially excited to include our Preschool students, introducing science as a fun and engaging way to explore the world around them while participating in a special event alongside the rest of our school community.

We are grateful to see our students growing in knowledge, curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

En IME, el aprendizaje va más allá de memorizar hechos. La Feria de Ciencias brinda a los estudiantes la oportunidad de investigar, descubrir y compartir lo que han aprendido con otros.

Este año, estábamos especialmente emocionados de incluir a nuestros estudiantes de preescolar, presentando la ciencia como una forma divertida y atractiva de explorar el mundo que los rodea mientras participaban en un evento especial junto con el resto de nuestra comunidad escolar.

Estamos agradecidos de ver a nuestros estudiantes crecer en conocimiento, curiosidad, creatividad y confianza.
