To talk about your nationality, you need to use the verb "ser".

For example:

Soy estadounidense - I'm American
Ella es chilena - She is Chilean
El profesor es cubano - The teacher is Cuban

To ask about someone else's nationality, use the question:

¿De dónde eres? - Where are you from?

In Spanish, the "gerunds" are always used as verbs.

We can do an "easy" translation by changing "ing" in the verb for Spanish "ando" or "iendo".

For regular verbs ending in "ar", we will use "ando".
For example: Caminar - Caminando

For regular verbs ending in "er/ir", we will use "iendo"
For example: Hacer - Haciendo
Abrir - Abriendo
