WHY STUDY IN MEXICO?
"Mexico is well known to Americans for its diverse and delicious cuisine; palm-lined beaches; archaeological ruins and designated world heritage sites; and vibrant music, art, dance, and cultural attractions. But did you know that Mexico also has top-quality universities offering the full variety of arts and sciences curricula, in safe, attractive cities like Puebla, Querétaro, Guanajuato, Mexico City, and many others?"

IBERO and The Center of International Undestanding (The University of North Carolina), collaborate every year in a short program called "Latino Initiative" and takes part in North Carolina and Mexico.
The Latino Initiative is an opportunity for North Carolina leaders to have a deeper understanding of immigration issues and, as a result, influence local approaches to integrating Latinos into U.S. communities. Teams travel to Mexico for a short-term immersion program, visiting some of the same communities that send family members to North Carolina for work. Among the week’s activities are seeing examples of community outreach and public services; learning about Mexico’s education and health care systems; and interacting with Mexican families.
