Teachers College Mexico City was established in 1990. Ten years after its inception, the College became a distance-learning educational institution.

Its founder, Miss Ana Alcala, donated half her residence, a beautiful country home on the outskirts of Mexico City commissioned by a President of Mexico in the 70´s, for the purpose of providing Teacher Training and Development for ESL Teachers in Mexico and abroad. Since the year 2000, hundreds of students have been able to pursue professional development through distance learning academic progra

ms. Today all certificate, associate and masters degree programs are offered exclusively on line. Students enrolled in the Teachers TESOL Certification academic program do not attend on-site classes. They take their final examination in the privacy and security of their own home or office. The Teachers TESOL Certificate can be obtained in two or four months. The Academic Program includes the following subject areas: Methodology, Psychology, Phonology, and Grammar. Students also submit a Final Project--a 30-40 minute video in which they are teaching an English class.
