🎓 HISTORIC ANNOUNCEMENT 🎓

We’re excited to announce that one of our co-founders and teachers, Edgar Sanabria Ramos, is graduating from Gallaudet University AND he will be presenting in LSM! We believe this will be the first commencement to have a presentation in LSM for the first time ever. What an accomplishment. ¡Felicidades, Edgar! 🇲🇽

“About 400 students will receive their degrees at our 153rd Commencement on Friday, May 12 in the Field House. Graduate students will receive their degrees in the morning, from 9 to 11 a.m. Eastern Time. Undergraduate ceremony will be in the afternoon, from 2 to 4 p.m. Eastern Time. Both ceremonies will be livestreamed.

Dr. Annelies Kusters, a sign language linguistics professor from Scotland, will address the graduate ceremony. Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum, interim president of Mount Holyoke College, will offer words of wisdom to the undergraduate Class of 2023.

It is traditional for students to speak at Commencement. This year, Edgar Sanabria Ramos will address his fellow graduate students. Edgar, an MASLED graduate from Mexico City, will deliver his speech in Mexican Sign Language, or LSM. Jakiya Murphy, an English major from Austin, Texas, will address the undergraduate Class of 2023.”
