A clinical study published in Veterinary Ophthalmology has demonstrated that a single exposure to ultraviolet C light can immediately reduce bacterial load in dogs, horses and cats with .
✅ The research analysed 34 eyes from 30 patients and recorded a 96.5% reduction in bacterial counts, while more than 94% of cases achieved at least a 75% reduction against microorganisms including Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and Pseudomonas.
These findings highlight significant progress in the study of veterinary eye infections and open new research opportunities into the clinical application of UV-C light for the treatment of corneal diseases.
