La Ruta Wixárika ya es Patrimonio Mundial
Recientemente, la UNESCO declaró la Ruta Wixárika como Patrimonio Mundial Cultural y Natural. Esta ruta sagrada es un camino ancestral que el pueblo wixárika (también conocido como huichol) recorre cada año para visitar cinco sitios sagrados distribuidos entre los estados de Jalisco, Nayarit, Durango y San Luis Potosí.
Durante este recorrido, los wixaritari honran a sus dioses, recolectan pe**te (hikuri) y mantienen vivas sus tradiciones espirituales. La ruta está conectada con el origen del mundo según su cosmovisión, por eso es un espacio fundamental para su identidad.
El nombramiento de la UNESCO reconoce no solo la riqueza cultural y espiritual del pueblo wixárika, sino también la necesidad de proteger su territorio frente a amenazas como la minería, la deforestación y el turismo no controlado.

The Wixárika Route is now a World Heritage Site
In recent days UNESCO declared the Wixárika Route a Cultural and Natural World Heritage Site. This sacred route is an ancestral path that the Wixárika people (also known as Huichol) walk each year to visit five sacred sites located across the Mexican states of Jalisco, Nayarit, Durango, and San Luis Potosí.
During this journey, the Wixaritari honor their gods, collect pe**te (hikuri), and keep their spiritual traditions alive. The route is deeply connected to their origin story and worldview, making it a vital space for their cultural identity.
