The disappearance of hair shows.
The real reason hair shows are disappearing is due to several factors.
First, hair product companies are no longer interested in heavily investing in education, educators, or shows, since they can already sell what they want online.
On the other hand, hairstylists believe they can "learn everything on the internet." easier and faster ,,, even if THAT IS NOT THE FORMULA TO MASTER ANY DISCIPLINE.
My first high-level show was in New York in 1985, and it was incredible to see major product brands competing to present the best new collections.
Stylists participated in international competitions, and offered private classes—sometimes with the biggest icons in the industry.
Sadly, that world is nearly gone.
That’s why I’m thrilled to see JAZ Beauty Supply hosting their own show, giving stylists the chance to participate in this event.
I congratulate my students for wanting to take part in this show, learning, and experiencing something truly unique.

THE COMB TALKS ...
Full Circle in life !!!
In 1986, I made my way to New York to witness the iconic New York International Hairshow at the Jacob Javits Center.
What an unforgettable experience! The energy was amazing , with hairstylists from every corner of the globe showcasing their cutting-edge collections and revolutionary ideas.
Working with incredible beautiful models.
One standout moment?
The phenomenal presentation by ABBA, led by none other than Alan Benfield Bush, a legend in the industry.
Fast forward 40 years, and life has come full circle.
Here we are, about to host an exclusive Facebook interview with Mr. Bush himself!
What an incredible honor to sit down with such a visionary on The Comb Talks.
This interview is more than just a conversation—it's a journey through his extraordinary life and his groundbreaking hair-cutting program, a true "MASTERPIECE IN HAIRCUTTING EDUCATION." We are the future of haircutting education
THE COMB INSTITUTE
In 2012, we unveiled the most advanced haircutting projector at the Long Beach Convention Center, highlighting the flaws in existing systems that produced imprecise results.
We introduced 3D diagrams, though the industry at the time was indifferent to this innovative approach.
Today, we continue to showcase our concepts, consistently achieving 100% client satisfaction , plus we have created a new tool to close any gap in precise haircutting education.
Where others require months of training, we deliver the same results in just hours.
WE HAVE SURPASSED OUTDATED METHODS AND NOW DELIVER HIGH-PRECISION HAIRCUTS.

What would you ask to Rodolfo Urrea ?
The most interesting aspect of a career isn't where it takes you, but where it has already led you.
This profession has given me everything—from the opportunity to work with and learn from the best in the world at an incredible level.
Now, I have the privilege of bridging the gap between two vastly different cultures: American culture and the world of Latin American hairstylists.
What better way to create this connection than through an interview with one of the most influential figures, Rodolfo Urrea.
Rodolfo, an Argentinian with an extraordinary passion for hairdressing
Rodolfo "OFFERS THE MOST AMAZING" unique perspective on the hair industry, despite not being a stylist or salon owner himself.
We invite you to join us for this incredible interview next week.
(Interview will be in Spanish)

Short Story...
Alain Delon,,, RIP
When I was 17, I started my career as a hairstylist in Mexico, working in my aunt Graciela's salon.
She had studied at the Sassoon Academy in London. My aunt was a true DIVA in every sense, living in Europe with class and sophistication.
She taught me to see the world differently—through the lens of glamour and beauty.
She was my mentor, and back then, the best way to learn was by watching European films with actors like Sophia Loren, Catherine Deneuve, and Alain Delon, as well as American stars like Robert Redford, Mia Farrow, Richard Burton, and Elizabeth Taylor.
Today, one of cinema's greats, Alain Delon, has passed away, an inspiration to many.

Teaching the science behind haircutting make many hairstylists think ,I'm extremely technical but you probably would like to know this story.
When I was younger, I went to art school. It was during that time I was 1000% a nerd 🤓. I have a small hair salon, and next door I rent a room for an art studio.
One day, I became completely obsessed with Franz Kafka's book "Metamorphosis"
The novel is about a young man who wakes up in the morning to find himself in a completely different body, much like insects go through a metamorphosis.
In the first chapter, I got frustrated thinking about how this young man is concerned about his new body while, outside his room, his mother and father live a normal morning routine.
I never moved on to chapter 2, and I will never finish the book because I'm still fascinated by the first chapter.
This novel gave me the inspiration to sketch and paint many pieces, trying to envision the new body shape of this young man in the novel.
Here are some paintings from that artistic era.
By the way, Franz Kafka never wanted any artist to sketch or paint this young man, preferring to leave it to your own mind to picture your own interpretation.
However, Kafka did not discourage people from sketching their own interpretations; rather, he preferred that any visual representation come from the readers' individual

If we think we know everything, we don't."
Education in the beauty industry is far below the reality and the times we live in.
The concept of calling someone an educator or a celebrity "MASTER" often falls short of reality
Throughout my career as an educator and stylist, I have met some of the best in the world, and even they do not accept the term "MASTER," to emphasize that the term "MASTER" and the idea that the industry offers education are in many cases false.
There are very few true "MASTERS," and Education is merely information.
This problem will continue to exist until the hairdressing industry reaches a university level, where a comprehensive process and an educational manual certified by the government are required, under which both the program and the instructors, as well as the students, are constantly evaluated.
It's not my intention to hurt your feelings, but in reality, it's time to evaluate and make the right decisions to take our industry to the next level.
1,- Evaluate ourselves and our industry
2,- Take the industry to next level

After more of twenty years as educator, I'm learning something new ...
Some years ago, a friend of mine who is in the hair industry told me that beauty product companies are not interested in educating stylists.
They only care about teaching them to use their products and show them some cutting and styling techniques here and there.
Yesterday, I saw the calendar of one of the largest companies worldwide, and they only had two hair cutting classes in Atlanta, each costing $500 per class.
The industry should prepare for one of the biggest revolutions in education.
Even though we see more videos on social media about haircuts and coloring techniques, the stylist will fall into a deep hole of ignorance.
This is not just due to a lack of hands-on education with an educator, but also due to a lack of understanding of the reasons behind things.
Learning faster and easier will be every day routine.
Artificial intelligence will be both a great friend and a significant ally of ignorance.
Once a response is found through AI, the learning process stops.
Why to go deeper since you have the fast answer.
Future stylists will excel in quick knowledge, often without depth.
I see it today: what was once a secret, like haircutting, now has people who are not professionals and have no experience, with 60 thousand followers on YouTube, showing how to bleach hair at home.
Welcome to the future of stylist education.
