¿Sabías que el Mes del Orgullo LGBT+ se celebra por una protesta que cambió la historia? 🌈

Cada junio se recuerda el levantamiento de Stonewall ocurrido en Nueva York en 1969, cuando personas LGBT+ se unieron para exigir respeto, libertad y dignidad. Ese momento marcó el inicio del movimiento moderno por los derechos LGBT+ en muchas partes del mundo.

En México, la primera marcha LGBT+ ocurrió en 1979, abriendo camino para que más personas pudieran vivir con mayor libertad y visibilidad.
Y en Mérida, la primera Marcha de la Diversidad se realizó en 2003, convirtiéndose en un espacio de comunidad, expresión y lucha por los derechos humanos en Yucatán.

Hoy, las marchas no solo son celebraciones: también son memoria, historia y esperanza para nuevas generaciones. ✨

Did you know that Pride Month began because of a protest that changed history? 🌈

Every June, people remember the Stonewall uprising that took place in New York in 1969, when LGBT+ people stood together to demand respect, freedom, and dignity. That moment became the beginning of the modern LGBT+ rights movement around the world.

In Mexico, the first LGBT+ march took place in 1979, opening the door for greater visibility and freedom.
And in Mérida, the first Diversity March was held in 2003, becoming an important space for community, expression, and human rights advocacy in Yucatán.

Today, Pride marches are not only celebrations they are also about memory, history, and hope for future generations. ✨
