There are so many reasons to love this community! I think women in aviation have a unique bond. We are so used to existing and excelling in an extremely male environment. Only 15% of the PPL licenses issued in Canada in 2025 went to women. And this is a huge increase from previous years!
This is only possible because of all the amazing women who have come before and have dedicated their time to encourage and uplift other women pilots.
I’m so excited to be able to add my little grain of sand. Especially to continue to encourage Latina women who are looking to be a part of aviation in any way.
One of the lessons that has impacted me the most through flying is how to deal with all the big emotions that flying evokes. I have felt joy, frustration, trepidation, awe, anger, you name it! But at the end of the day, you just have to feel, deal, and learn. All while flying a plane!

Learn a new skill from a master! It doesn’t matter what you choose to learn, it will change you as a person. There is something so intrinsically human about learning from a master of their craft.
“Why be stressed? Have fun” is something my instructor tells me at least weekly and it’s slowly sinking in. Yes, we have to be focused on our goals. But who said that all has to happen under duress?
(I say this now as someone who did their written test for PPL last week and am experiencing a much brighter outlook on life 🤪)
