Temple of Santa Prisca
This iconic building in Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero, dates from the 18th century, when José de la Borda, a wealthy miner who was considered the richest man in New Spain at the time, ordered its construction after lightning burned and destroyed a first temple built in the 16th century.

It is considered a jewel of Neo-Hispanic Baroque, whose patron saint, Santa Prisca, protects the city from bad weather. It has two twin towers in the Churrigueresque style and a chapel decorated with Talavera tiles, with cylindrical columns in the lower part and Salomonic columns in the upper part. It also has nine wooden altarpieces covered with gold leaf.

8M
The beginnings of this commemoration as an international anniversary date back to the 19th and 20th centuries, in the United States and Europe, with the women's movements for the abolition of slavery, with the revolts of women workers who protested for better working conditions in factories, with the suffragettes and those who demanded an end to the First World War.
