El grupo se dedica al estudio bioinformático de los factores de transcripción; analisis de la presencia e identidad de dichos factores tanto de Eubacteria como de Arquea; utilizacion de teoría de grafos para estudiar la evolución de las vías metabólicas; desarrollo de algoritmos genéticos para realizar hacer alineamientos de vías metabólicas; analisis de la distribución filogenética de enzimas involucradas en las biosíntesis de lípidos y metabolismo de ácidos nucléicos.
