Our summer campers had an exciting field trip to the pet shop! 🐹🐢🦎

The staff gave our children a wonderful up-close experience — sharing everything about the different species, their feeding routines, what they eat, how often, and how to keep their habitats clean. They also learned what signs to look for if an animal isn't feeling well.

At cmsp, real-world experiences like these spark curiosity, empathy and a deeper respect for all living things — values at the heart of a Montessori education.

This week our summer campers had a very special visit from a professional bee keeper! 🍯

Children learned about the different types of bees, how to care for them, the special gear bee keepers use, and the incredible medicinal properties of honey. Most importantly, they discovered just how vital bees are to our ecosystem — and to life as we know it. Campers had the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the specialist, making it a truly hands-on and memorable learning experience.

At cmsp, we believe learning goes beyond the classroom. Bringing real-world professionals into our children's environment sparks curiosity, deepens understanding and connects knowledge to life. 🌿🐝

🎨 This summer, our campers are exploring the world through the eyes of great artists! This week we dove into the life and work of Pablo Picasso — one of the most revolutionary artists of the 20th century. Campers discovered his story, explored his unique style, and studied his techniques. And then? They picked up their own materials and created! 🖌️✨

At cmsp, art is never just about copying — it's about using what you discover to find your own voice. Children are free to explore, experiment, and express themselves in their own unique way. Because in Montessori we believe every child is an artist, and creativity has no limits. 🌟

The best lessons happen outside the classroom! 🦁🌿

Yesterday our summer campers explored the zoo, got up close with incredible animals, and learned all about their care and habits. Back at school, they picked up their pencils and drew every animal they could remember. Curiosity in action — that's the Montessori way! 🎨✨

Yesterday our cmsp summer campers became junior herpetologists! We dedicated the day to exploring the fascinating world of reptiles and amphibians — and it was hands-on in the best way possible. Children got up close with a desert tortoise, observed a snake and a frog, and even touched a bearded dragon! 🐢✨

From observing how these incredible creatures move, breathe, and adapt, to diving into books and research about the animal kingdom — our campers discovered that the best way to learn about nature is to experience it firsthand.

In Montessori, we believe the animal kingdom is one of the greatest classrooms there is, and watching our campers light up with curiosity and wonder reminded us exactly why.

In Montessori elementary, curiosity isn't just welcomed — it's the starting point for everything. 🔍✨

When a child wonders how volcanoes form, why stars exist, or what life was like in ancient Egypt, they don't just get an answer. They investigate.

Through books, research on the computer, hands-on experiments, and real-world exploration, children learn to ask questions, form their own ideas, and discover answers on their own terms. This is how we build not just knowledge — but a lifelong love of learning.

In Montessori Elementary, math goes beyond memorizing formulas — students shift from hands-on, concrete learning to abstract thinking, building real confidence along the way.
