I just love hanging with hawksbills, and watching them glide by unbothered.

This was a tiny baby lionfish Akumal’s reef was as long as my baby finger. He was crossing and will wiggling his spines as me in defense as I leaned in for this shot. Making good things happen.
The longline that Natalie found on the reef has been given to the Centro Ecologico Akumal (CEA) I am told it will likely be reused in the turtle program. (Hopefully to mark turtle nests.)

If ai call or a box jellyfish, it sounds terrifying. If I call it a sea wasp, it sounds cute. It is both, and I, carefully, enjoyed the view.

Why, yes! I did intentionally hang out with a box jellyfish in the blackwater. Thank you Guillermo Reta for capturing this. It was fast and about the size of a soda bottle, but the details are so delicate.
