On Saturday 28th May, we took part in the Interschools football tournament hosted by Hillview School. We were incredibly proud of how well all our 3 teams played. Congratulations to our Colts team who were the overall winners. A huge thanks to coach Dan and all other staff and amazing parents who helped to make this day such a success! We are proud of the Sur Harry's family!

Nursery class assembly last Friday
Malumbe class have been learning about forces by making and testing out parachutes during the week. They were investigating what the best material was or how size affected the parachutes. They had great fun trying them out.

On Thursday 5th May, two teams from Malumbe class took part in the Maths Olympiad at Phoenix International School. The teams worked hard to solve challenging arithmetic problems, logic problems and answer quiz questions.
Congratulations to Chimango, Welcome, Seko, Wamaka, Reshma, Steveria, Zimaatha and David for your determination and skill. You represented Sir Harry's brilliantly.
Our year 9 students have been having an amazing time in Nkhudzi Bay on their residential. They have been preparing their own food, organising games and freetime activities and undertaking some work with geography and business studies skills including conducting interviews in Monkey Bay. We look forward to their return to school tomorrow.

Our Chess team participated in All Africa Schools Chess Qualifiers (Southern Region, Malawi) held at Blantyre Baptist Academy Today. Jayden and Gugulethu represented the team. Out of competitive 7 rounds they managed, 3 and 3.5 points respectively. Congratulations Future Grand Masters.

Sir Harry’s is in ‘The Nation’ newspaper today for supporting Flood Relief. Well done to all of our students for their great fundraising efforts!
On Wednesday, our year 9 students had the opportunity to be creative and design their own t shirt using techniques, such as stencil prints and applique.
Presentation for Flood Relief
Our Sponsored Swim raised K1,191,000.00 for the Flood Relief Programme. We used this money to buy sugar, salt, soya pieces, beans, maize flour, cooking oil, plastic sheets, plates and cups, buckets and some blankets.
Representatives from our school council went to Likangala Camp with Blessings (from the District Council) to present our donations. Our donations allowed 50 people out of the 269 in the camp to return to their homes. A great achievement for Sir Harry's.
On Tuesday we held a Secondary Swimming Gala, where students from years 7 to 11 completed in Various races. It was great to see an improvement in their confidence, technique and stamina. The winning house was Tsanya.

Today our Years 7 and 8 worked on a Design Technology project, the main objective was to produce a simple clothing from old and unwanted clothes. The students had lots of fun changing how their t-shirts looked using paint, print and sewing.
Today our Year 11 students attended a virtual IELTS orientation workshop. They learnt about the International English Language Testing System which is required for students who want to further their studies abroad.
On Sunday we had a Primary and Secondary team competing in the Zomba Urban National Spelling Bee. We were proud to host this event at Sir Harry's.
All of our Students made an excellent effort and 18 of them managed to get through to the next round. They will go on to compete in the southern Region Finals in Blantyre.

On Saturday our Boarders went on an exciting trip to Zomba plateau. In the morning they visited Mulunguzi Dam and enjoyed a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, they went on to William's Falls. Everyone had a great day, although came back very tired!
Sir Harry's was proud to host the International Schools Primary Netball and Tag Rugby Tournament today. Our teams competed against St. Andrew's International Primary School Malawi, Phoenix International Primary School, Hillview International School and Bishop Mackenzie International School. All of our children played well and showed great team spirit. We would like to congratulate Steveria for being recognised as the most valuable player in the netball competition. Overall, Phoenix International Primary School won the netball and St. Andrew's International Primary School Malawi won the the Tag Rugby. It was a great event and we would like to thank our staff, parents and students for all of their support.
