Your computer may be workingโbut is it safe?
Expiro is a dangerous file-infecting virus targeting Windows systems, and it often goes unnoticed until real damage is done. If your device is slowing down, crashing unexpectedly, or your antivirus has mysteriously switched off, donโt ignore it.
This threat spreads through everyday actionsโUSB drives, shared files, and untrusted downloads. One small mistake can compromise an entire system.
Stay vigilant. Stick to trusted software sources, keep your systems updated, and think twice before plugging in unknown devices.
If you suspect an infection: disconnect from the network, keep the device on, and report it to your ICT department immediately.

Library services at Domasi College of Education are getting a major upgrade.
MAREN recently conducted a handover and user training following the upgrade of the Koha Integrated Library System (Koha) from version 19 to 25.
Kohaโan open-source platform used globallyโenables libraries to manage cataloguing, circulation, and online access through one integrated system.
The training equipped staff with practical skills to fully utilise Koha, improving efficiency and strengthening library service delivery.
The initiative is expected to enhance both individual capacity and institutional performance.
Weโre proud to support institutions in building smarter, more efficient digital libraries.

Empowering researchers, students, and institutions through affordable internet connectivity and digital services across Malawiโs education and research sector.
Malawi Research and Education Network (MAREN) says it is geared to continue extending its reach in the countryโs education and research sector.
Speaking in Zomba during a media engagement, Chief Executive Officer for MAREN, Solomon Dindi, said the organisation, among others, seeks to provide a digital backbone that will enhance internet connectivity.
Dindi said such developments will improve e-learning, research access and cross-institution collaboration.
He pointed out the successful implementation of the World Bank-funded Digital Malawi Project as one of their achievements, noting that they have connected 43 institutions of higher learning to high-speed internet and strengthened research.
In her remarks, Director of Administration and Finance for MAREN, Grace Dzoole, said the organisationโs interventions will also help the countryโs research projects gain global recognition as they become more accessible.
