Today's Friday was good. The honor we had was more than we ever thought. A delegation of the International Labor Organization (ILO) from South Africa visited our institution Corporate Institute of Horticulture to appreciate our skills training in horticulture in partnership with World Relief Country Office Area 12.

The delegation from Pretoria, Republic of South Africa and Malawi Country Office were impressed with our work, training approach and how our work is aligned to the Vision 2063 of the country. Coincidentally, today we had a students field tour experience at PARAM AGRO FARMS LIMITED, one of the farms CIH is providing farm development consultancy services.

Our students went to the farms to appreciate commercial mango farming and to link the skills from the training and their application in commercial farming.

The delegation followed us to this farm and was so impressed with the outcomes for the training. We are grateful to ILO for the upcoming partnership and the support they always provide to shape the agri-vocational training in Malawi.

We are delighted Corporate Institute of Horticulture to welcome our 49 learners from Dowa District sponsored by Impact Relief formerly World Relief.

Today marks one week, and the journey has just started. The young men and women will undergo vocational training in the trade of Horticulture using the Edible Horticulture Curriculum.

We are greatful for the partnership with Impact Relief and TEVETA as we look forward for the exciting 4 months journey. We believe this is a huge contribution towards creating the Malawi that we want by investing in young people and creating opportunities for employment.

This kind of work contributes to various SDGs including ensuring availability of decent jobs especially for the teaming youth across Malawi and Africa at large.

A four months journey of field trainings for young people from Dowa District begun yesterday at CIH Campus in Salima.

With support from Impact Relief, 49 young people from two youth clubs around Dzaleka camp in Dowa District will undergo training in edible horticulture, beekeeping, livestock farming and entrepreneurship for the next 4 months.

We are so grateful for this partnership in which CIH, TEVETA and Impact Relief came together to provide skill-based training with an aim of creating a killed pool of you g people geared to transform their lives.

Thank you Impact Relief for the financial support that will go long way to uplift the lives of these young people.
