I was honoured to attend the wedding ceremony of Honourable Wilfred Mpisa, Member of Parliament for Phalombe North-East Constituency, and his wife, Madam Cecilia Naluso Mpisa, which took place at Robbins Park in Blantyre on Saturday, 20th December, 2025.

It was a beautiful and well-attended ceremony that brought together people from across the constituency and beyond, reminding us that above politics, unity, respect, and shared humanity must always prevail.

I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Honourable Mpisa and Madam Cecilia as they begin this new chapter of their lives.

Following the official announcement of results by the Malawi Electoral Commission last night, September 30th, 2025, I, Honourable Emuhiye Dennis Biscuit Namachekecha Phiri, Former Member of Parliament for Phalombe North East Constituency (2014โ€“2025), extend my heartfelt congratulations to Honourable Wilfred Mpisa on being duly elected as Member of Parliament for our constituency.

Having already conceded defeat and congratulated him thr morning after the election day, I now reaffirm my respect for the peopleโ€™s will as declared by MEC. I stand ready to provide handover notes from my two consecutive terms of service, should Honourable Mpisa wish to build on the foundations already laid for the development of our constituency.

I wish him well as he undertakes this important responsibility, and may his leadership bring progress, unity, and prosperity to the people of Mauzi and Swang'oma wards.

This morning, I reached out to congratulate my brother, MP-Elect Mr. Wilfred Mpisa, for the spirited campaign he has run. I wished him strength, wisdom, and success as he carries forward the hopes of our people in Swang'oma and Mauzi wards.

In his reply, he assured me of his respect and expressed his desire for us to work together for the betterment of our constituency.

This is the spirit that should guide us all, unity, mutual respect, and a commitment to serve our people. Leadership is not about division, but about joining hands to advance the common good.

Together, we can make Phalombe North East a better place for everyone.
