We’ve just completed two days of fabulous training and discussion, ready for term starting on Monday.

Data analysis and using it to inform teaching priorities played a major part this year. We could also use our media room, along with a projector, for the first time since electricity was connected.

We are so excited to welcome students back on Monday. Let’s gooooooooooo…! 💪🏿

"Our Story, by Ranjitha – With Gratitude to WIDE and KCF.

I am Ranjitha. I have two brothers, Rahul and Rajesh.

In 2014, during Pongal festival, our lives changed forever. We were happily going on a bike to buy things for the celebration. It was supposed to be a joyful day. Instead, it became the darkest day of our lives. We met with a terrible accident. That night in the hospital was a nightmare. The next day, we came to know that we had lost both our parents. In just one moment, we became orphaned children.

We were injured physically, but the pain in our hearts was much deeper. No child should ever experience such trauma. The fear, the confusion, the loneliness — it took us nearly a year to slowly come out of that darkness.

During that difficult time, through our uncle’s friend, we found WIDE Children’s Home. The first time we visited, we met Amma (Kumari). Her eyes were full of kindness. Then we met Dan Sir. With his generous heart and strong recommendation, we were admitted into WIDE. That decision changed our lives completely.

WIDE did not just give us shelter. It gave us love. It gave us protection. It gave us dignity. It gave us a family. Everything we thought we had lost forever after our parents’ death, we slowly found again inside WIDE.

Dan Sir was the first foreigner I had ever seen. But from the beginning, he never felt like a stranger. Even today, I feel like he is holding our hands and walking beside us in every step of our journey. Through the support of our sponsor friends and the loving support of KCF, we were able to study, grow, and dream again.

KCF did not just support us financially. They became part of our story. Part of our healing. Part of our future.

Today, we stand strong — not as three broken children, but as three young people with hope, education, and dreams.

We are forever grateful to Amma, to Dan Sir, to KCF, and to every single person who supported us. You turned our tragedy into a miracle.

We lost our parents.
But we found a family.

We have a family.
We are a family. ❤️"

🙏 We can't thank enough everyone who helps KCF achieve what to some feel like miracles. Our gratitude and thanks mean nothing compared to knowing what an immeasurable difference you make to children's lives.

🙏 Thank you to Priya, Kumari and everyone else at WIDE Children's Home for doing what they do, day in, day out. We have the easiest of parts in comparison to their endless toil, commitment and dedication.

🙏 Thank you to Ranjitha for offering to share her and her brothers' stories with us. Such a bright, determined and strong young woman. A story that inspired the creation of KCF which 10 years on continues to support her WIDE family, as well as thousands of children in Malawi and Sierra Leone ❤️

Wellbeing afternoon for our staff!

We know how fortunate we are to have such an amazing staff at Stepping Stones. This afternoon is a chance to recognise this by having a few treats.

We shared a delicious lunch of rice and beans before the afternoon began.

Our hospital physio, Steve, came to work with staff about keeping healthy through movement and exercise.

We also offered head and shoulder massages by the great massage ladies who work at Butterfly Space and beauty treatments carried out by our vocational training beauty students.

A wonderful afternoon!

It was a truly bittersweet day today, saying goodbye to our standard 8s. Many of the class had been with us since they were small. I have no doubt that they will go on to great things in future. They were a wonderful class who will be very missed.

We had a wonderful celebration after exams last night, including chicken for dinner and a LOT of dancing!

Our standard 8 class are half way through their national exams. They’ve worked so hard and we are really proud of them. Big thank you to our teaching team who have got them to this point. Wish them good luck!!
