GRADUATION PREPARATIONS AT AN ADVANCED STAGE

Staff from Malawi Adventist University (MAU) – Malamulo College of Health Sciences and Lakeview College today met at Nkunkhu Lodge at Zalewa to prepare for the University’s upcoming graduation ceremony.

The meeting brought together staff from the two campuses to coordinate and plan for the graduation, which is scheduled to take place from 23–25 October 2026.

As preparations continue, the University is working to ensure that the three-day graduation celebration is well coordinated and memorable for graduands, their families, guests, and the wider MAU community.

MALAWI ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY JOINS GLOBAL ADVENTIST FAMILY IN OneVoice27 LAUNCH

Malawi Adventist University Church today joins the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist family in launching OneVoice27, a global initiative aimed at uniting Adventists around one mission, sharing the hope of Jesus Christ with the world.

The global launch, taking place today, September 5, 2026, marks the beginning of a year-long journey of prayer, spiritual preparation and mission, leading to a major worldwide evangelistic emphasis in September 2027.

OneVoice27, whose theme is “Mission for All,” seeks to mobilise church members, pastors, local churches, institutions and Adventist media ministries to use their voices, talents and various platforms to share the Gospel. The initiative encourages members to reach people not only through traditional church activities, but also through community outreach, personal relationships, acts of kindness and digital media.

The initiative takes on special significance as the Adventist Church looks towards September 2027, which marks approximately 2,000 years since the baptism of Jesus and the beginning of His public ministry. The worldwide Church intends to use the occasion to proclaim Christ through different forms of media and evangelism, adapted to local contexts.

For Malawi Adventist University Church, today's launch offers an opportunity for students, staff and other worshippers to see themselves as participants in a global mission rather than simply observers.

The message behind OneVoice27 is simple: different people, different gifts and different platforms, but one voice proclaiming Jesus.

As the global Adventist family begins this journey, the question being posed to members everywhere is equally simple: Are you in?

MALAWI ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY ENCOURAGES INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP TO DIVERSIFY INCOME

Plans are underway for Malawi Adventist University (MAU), Lakeview Campus, to establish business enterprises as part of efforts to diversify its sources of income.

This was revealed recently when university management held an interface meeting with faculty and staff.

Speaking during the meeting, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Vernon Kabambe challenged the institution to diversify its revenue streams and move away from relying solely on tuition fees as its primary source of income.

He further challenged individual departments to develop innovative business ideas that could help generate additional income for the university. He assured staff that management would support viable business initiatives from any department, provided that they make sound business sense.

The learned professor, further urged faculty and staff to remain committed to the university's spiritual mandate of spreading the Good News. He reminded the gathering that, as a Christian institution of higher learning, all members of staff have a role to play in sharing the gospel.

In this regard, he introduced Mrs. Khonje as the leader of the Evangelism Committee.

Taking his turn, the Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Chisomo Ngala, informed the gathering about the departure of Dr. Khumburani Ndhlovu and Dr. Sheron Ndhlovu, who have accepted a service call to work at Adventist University of Africa (AUA).

Dr. Ngala commended the Ndhlovus for their dedication and service to the university. He particularly recognized them for accepting the service call to come to Malawi from Zimbabwe when the university was still in its formative stages.

He said their 18 years of service, from 2008 to 2026, contributed significantly to the growth and development of the university, as they served in various portfolios.

Reflecting on their contribution, Dr. Ngala recalled that Dr. Sheron Ndhlovu was the second faculty member in the Business Department, after himself.

The Dean also introduced Pastor Dr. Ernest Khonje and Mrs. Elizabeth Khonje, who have returned to Malawi Adventist University as faculty members in the Theology Department.

He recognized Dr. Khonje as a pioneer of the institution, noting that he was the first Malawian to lead Lakeview College following the departure of Western missionaries. He further commended Dr. Khonje for his instrumental role in the establishment and development of the university.

In his remarks, the University Registrar, Mr. Shadrach Kuleti, announced that the university's 2026 graduation ceremony will take place from 23 to 25 October.

He urged all members of staff to take an active role in ensuring the success of the graduation ceremony.

Mr. Kuleti reminded faculty and staff that graduation is a significant milestone and a celebration of the collective efforts of the entire university community, providing an opportunity for staff to reap the fruits of their labour.

He therefore encouraged all members of staff to prepare for the event by actively participating in the various committees that have been established to coordinate the graduation ceremony.

The meeting concluded with a luncheon for faculty and staff.

NTCHEU DISTRICT CHILDREN’S PARLIAMENT HOLDS YOUTH PARLIAMENT AT MALAWI ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY

Ntcheu District Children’s Parliament has honoured Malawi Adventist University, Lakeview College Campus, by selecting its Multi-Purpose Hall as the venue for its Youth Parliament which was conducted today.

The interface brought together young parliamentarians and duty bearers from the Ntcheu District Council.

The Youth Parliament provided a platform for children to raise issues affecting their lives and communities and engage directly with district authorities responsible for addressing these issues.

During the interface, the young parliamentarians presented various concerns affecting children in Ntcheu, while duty bearers from the Ntcheu District Council responded by outlining measures being undertaken, as well as actions already taken, to address the issues raised.

The engagement provided an important opportunity for children to participate in decision-making processes and for duty bearers to listen directly to the voices and concerns of young people.

The hosting of the Youth Parliament at Malawi Adventist University, Lakeview College Campus, further demonstrates the University's commitment to supporting meaningful community engagement, youth participation and platforms that empower young people to contribute to issues affecting their communities.
