As we look forward to the launch of our formal programme, we continue to expand our informal training opportunities through our Theology Study by Extension (TSE) programme.
TSE is our remote training programme designed to equip pastors and church leaders in rural areas. It is taught in Chichewa, making theological training accessible to those who might otherwise never have the opportunity.
A few weeks ago, we launched a new training site in Zomba, TA Mwambo, in the Southern Region of Malawi. We were encouraged to begin with more than 50 participants, all eager to learn and deeply thankful for the opportunity.
Our first module focuses on a clear, biblical understanding of the gospel. During the training, Pastor Emmanuel challenged participants that the gospel is not only what saves us—it is also the message we are called to faithfully preach in our churches. Using the Apostle Paul as an example, he urged the pastors to examine both the message they proclaim and the gospel they themselves have believed.
The response was both encouraging and humbling.
One pastor shared:
"We have attended many trainings before, but this is the first time someone has taken us back to the foundation."
Another pastor openly challenged his fellow pastors, saying:
"If we are to be honest, this is not what we have been preaching. But now we have no excuse."
We thank the Lord for the opportunity He has given us to serve these pastors. Our prayer is that we would remain faithful and that He would be pleased to use our small efforts to strengthen His church and equip shepherds for ministry.
The programme runs for three years, and our next module will take place in August.
