MOSES SENT 12 ISRAELITES TO EXPLORE CANAAN

In the book of Numbers, God told Moses to send 12 spies into the land of Canaan, the promised land for the Israelites. Moses selected one man from each of the 12 tribes to explore the land. The spies were instructed to see if the land was good, if the people were strong, and to bring back some of the land’s produce. After 40 days, the spies returned with a report: the land was indeed beautiful and fertile, but ten of the spies were afraid of the strong people living there and said the Israelites couldn’t conquer them.

However, two spies, Caleb and Joshua, believed that with God’s help, they could take the land. They encouraged the people to trust God’s promise, but the Israelites listened to the fearful report and became afraid. They even wished to return to Egypt, forgetting how God had already delivered them from slavery. Because of their lack of faith, God said that the Israelites would not enter the land at that time, and only Caleb and Joshua would be allowed to enter.

This story teaches us to trust in God’s promises, even when things seem impossible. Fear can hold us back, but when we have faith in God, He will help us overcome any challenges. Just like Caleb and Joshua, we should be brave and trust that God is with us, guiding us to the good things He has promised.
