Preparations are at an advanced stage for the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources' (LUANAR) inaugural Alumni Connect, bringing former students back together to share ideas on advancing academic excellence at their alma mater.

The event takes place this Saturday at the Botanic Garden, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Speaking after receiving a K4 million cheque from the National Bank of Malawi, LUANAR Deputy Vice Chancellor, Associate Professor Agnes Mwangwela, said the alumni network will help build a vibrant and active association that also supports needy students at the university. She thanked the National Bank of Malawi for the generous donation and encouraged other companies to follow suit in supporting LUANAR's growth.

National Bank of Malawi Senior Manager, Shadreck Malenga, said alumni associations play a vital role in connecting former students with their institutions, adding that the bank backed the initiative because it opens up networking opportunities that contribute to national economic development.
