Whenever life shows us its different colours, people are bound to show us their true colours. The true colour of people are mostly revealed in the rough seasons of life. One of the people that tough times always reveal to us are those who will stand with you, even when others desert you.

This kind of people identifies with you in your twists and turns of life. They stand with you throughout your peril and give you a shoulder not only to lean on but also to cry on. They are the friends indeed that were mentioned in the timeless statement, “a friend in need is a friend indeed.”
They are loyal friends who make the relationship they have with you their priority. They will sacrifice for you. They will tell you where you are wrong and what is wrong. They will always be on your side no matter what. They stand up for you when others turn against you.
Making a million friends is not a miracle, particularly now that people have social media following in thousands and millions. The miracle is to have a friend who would stand with you when millions are against you. These friends do not join others to cast aspersions on you neither will they fight you nor join others to fight you.
They do not jump out of your ship when it is sinking. They stick around to help you clean up the mess. They do not think twice about defending you. They know so much about you yet won’t sell you out. They bury your secrets deep in their hearts, and will never, under any circumstances, betray your trust. David had that in Jonathan. They stick closer than a brother and are God-sent.
