📢 NOTICE TO ALL LAMAU STUDENTS

🎓 PROVISIONAL APPROVAL OF STUDENTS’ LOANS – 2026/2027

Lake Malawi Anglican University (LAMAU) wishes to inform students that HESLGB has released the provisional results for the 2026/2027 student loan cycle.

A total of 22 applications were received from LAMAU, of which 9 applicants have been found eligible and provisionally approved for funding.

📌 Loan beneficiaries: Names can be accessed from the Office of the Assistant Registrar, Dean of Students, or the HESLGB website: www.heslgb.mw

📅 Appeals: Students who are not satisfied with the outcome may appeal from 24–28 August 2026.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: All appeals must be submitted ONLY through SFMIS, the same platform used for loan applications.

Students are encouraged to check their loan status and take the necessary action within the stipulated period.

🙏🏽 Opening Mass – July–December 2026 Semester | LAMAU-Monday, 17th August 2026

Today, Lake Malawi Anglican University (LAMAU) held its Opening Mass to officially mark the beginning of the July–December 2026 Semester.

The Opening Mass is an important tradition at LAMAU, held at the beginning of every semester as we dedicate the new academic journey to God and seek His guidance, wisdom and blessings.

The Mass was celebrated and preached by Reverend Canon Dr Andrew Sumani, Head of the Theology Department, assisted by Canon Christopher Mwawa, LAMAU Chaplain, and Reverend Canon Francis Takilima, LAMAU Quality Assurance Manager.

📖 The readings were taken from:

- Romans 8:26–39
- Matthew 13:31–52
- 1 Kings 3:5–12

The central message of the sermon was one of faith, hope and determination. Students were encouraged to trust in God and believe that, with God, everything we hope to achieve for good is possible.

As a faith-based institution, LAMAU embraces “The Word of God” as one of its core values. We are reminded that our faith in God should guide us in our academic journey and in every aspect of our lives. With God on our side, we can overcome challenges and achieve great things.

“If God is for us, who can be against us?” — Romans 8:31

The Mass was attended by the Principal, Academic Dean, Director of Finance, Dean of Students, members of staff, and students.

It was a blessed and encouraging occasion as we welcomed our new students and continuing students into the July–December 2026 Semester.

May God guide, strengthen and bless every member of the LAMAU community throughout this semester. May our faith, hard work and commitment lead us to greater achievements.
