Earlier today, Fr. Callistus Obiekwe, MSP, the Principal of Holy Family Secondary School, celebrated the Mass of the Holy Spirit with us as we begin the 2026/27 Academic Year.

The celebration was centred on the theme of Courage, Wisdom and Power—qualities we pray will guide and strengthen us throughout the academic year.

May the Holy Spirit fill us with courage to face every challenge, wisdom to make the right decisions and power to fulfil our responsibilities with faith and dedication.

Holy Family Secondary school is seeking a dedicated and organised school secretary to join our team.

JOB DESCRIPTION
To provide administrative support to the school, manage office operations and be the first point of contact for students, parents and staff.

KEY DUTIES
1. Answer phone call, emails and welcome visitors
2. Manage students records, attendance and correspondence
3. Support the headteacher with scheduling and reports
4. Handle office supplies, filling and general administration
5. Maintain confidentiality at all times
6. Typing and printing school examinations

REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum: MSCE Certificate +Certificate/Diploma in secretarial/office administration
2. Computer skills:MS Word, Excel and email
3. Excellent communication skills in English and Chichewa/Tumbuka
4. 1-2 years experience in a school or office setting preferred
5. Honest, reliable and professional

Trust the process

The sun has risen over Holy Family Secondary School bringing with it a calm and chilly June morning a perfect examination weather that has seen many students putting on their warm school jerseys. Today marks the beginning of the 2026 MSCE examinations with Agriculture being the first paper.
The faces of the candidates tell a story of determination, confidence and hope. Behind every smile lies four years of hard work, sacrifice, late night studies, examinations and prayers. Today is not just another school day, it is the beginning of the final journey towards achieving their dreams.
This journey began back in 2023, when these students were admitted to Holy Family Secondary School as Form Ones. Over the past four years, they have grown academically, socially and personally under the guidance of their teachers, parents and guardians. Now in 2026, they stand ready to demonstrate what they have learned.
As the great philosopher Aristotle wisely said, "The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet." Today our candidates begin harvesting the fruits of the hard work they have invested over the past four years.
As they enter the examination rooms they carry not only pens and calculators but also the hopes of their families, teachers and the entire Holy Family school community. Their goal is clear, to perform exceptionally well and earn places at different universities and colleges across Malawi.

EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO ZODIAK BROADCASTING STATION AND NKHOMA MUSEUM

On 12th June 2026, students from Holy Family Secondary School, located in Bowe, Traditional Authority Mnyanja, Village Headman Mende, Kasungu District, embarked on an educational visit to Zodiak Broadcasting Station in Area 47, Lilongwe, and Nkhoma Museum in Lilongwe.

The purpose of the trip was to complement classroom learning with practical experiences and expose students to different career opportunities and historical knowledge.

The educational visit was organized by the Humanities Department under the guidance of the Humanities Coordinator, Mr. B. Ngwera. The initiative was led by the Humanities teacher, Mr. OG Sandram, in collaboration with the Geography teacher, Miss V. Jere, and the Languages teacher, Mr. C. Kaboma. Their combined efforts ensured that students gained meaningful academic, cultural, and career-related experiences beyond the classroom.

At Zodiak Broadcasting Station, students toured various departments and learned how radio and television programmes are produced and broadcast. They also interacted with media professionals who shared valuable knowledge about the media industry. During the visit, Mr. Owen Lupesya encouraged students to work hard in all subjects, especially Languages and Mathematics, emphasizing that these subjects are important foundations for success in many professions, including journalism and broadcasting.

At Nkhoma Museum, students explored Malawi's educational, cultural, and religious history through a variety of historical artefacts and records. The visit helped learners appreciate the contribution of early missionaries to education in Malawi. Students were also encouraged to work hard in History so that they can better understand and preserve the nation's heritage.

The educational tour brought learning to life by allowing students to experience in practice what they normally learn in class. It broadened their understanding, stimulated their curiosity, and inspired them to work harder towards achieving their academic and career goals.
As organisers of this educational visit, we sincerely thank our Principal, Fr. Callistus Obiekwe, and the entire school management team for their unwavering support and for granting students this valuable opportunity. Their vision, dedication and commitment to holistic education continue to create an environment where learners are encouraged to excel both inside and outside the classroom. We are grateful for their leadership and continued investment in the future of our students.
