Meet Shallom Chapotoka, a fourth-year student at the Malawi College of Accountancy (MCA), pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Accounting, Auditing and Information Systems (BAAAIS).

Shallom completed her secondary education at Maranatha Girls Academy, where she developed a passion for accounting.

She says she likes the BAAAIS programme because it combines accounting, auditing, and information systems, giving her a well-rounded education.

โ€œIt equips me with both technical knowledge and practical skills that prepare me for today's dynamic business environment. I also appreciate how it develops my problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

Reflecting on her journey at MCA, Shallom shares:

โ€œThe institution has challenged me to work hard, think critically, and become more confident in my abilities. Through the support of lecturers and interactions with fellow students, I have grown academically, professionally, and personally.โ€

๐Ÿ“˜โ€œOne of the modules that has inspired me the most is Auditing. It has taught me the importance of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail. The module has strengthened my interest in pursuing a career in accounting and auditing while helping me understand the vital role auditors play in promoting transparency and accountability.โ€

๐Ÿ—จ๏ธHer message to aspiring students:

โ€œMCA provides a welcoming and supportive learning environment. The lecturers are approachable, and always willing to help students succeed. Campus life offers opportunities to interact with students from different backgrounds, creating a positive atmosphere for both academic and personal growth.โ€

Shallom also hails MCA for giving her the opportunity to study at the institution saying the knowledge, skills, and values she has gained have shaped her into a more confident and determined individual, and she looks forward to using them to make a positive contribution to her profession and community.

Meet Jastone Matembo Mkandawire, one of our students at the Malawi College of Accountancy (MCA), pursuing a Bachelor of Marketing and Public Relations (BMPR).

Jastone joined MCA after obtaining his Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) from Peak Secondary School in Rumphi.

Reflecting on his academic journey at MCA, Jastone says:
"My experience at MCA has been quite good since 2024 when I started my first year. I don't regret choosing to study here and, most importantly, the programme I chose. MCA is a very good institution which really equips learners with relevant knowledge and skills."

"There are a number of things that I like about the BMPR programme, but to mention a few, it prepares one to become self-reliant, interact with people, build relationships, and have a clear understanding of the marketplace, customer behaviour, as well as products and services."

He adds that the programme comprises relevant modules, singling out Principles of Marketing, Consumer Insight, and Managing Customers as some of the modules that have been particularly helpful in helping him understand how customers behave and make decisions in todayโ€™s dynamic business environment.

Jastone also commends MCA for providing a conducive learning environment adding that the campus life has been fruitful with friendly, empathetic, and helpful staff who make the student experience more enjoyable.

"Beyond the classroom, I'm a member of the MCA Marketing Consortium, which is a club for marketing students."

Jastone also serves as the Class President for the BMPR third-year class, a role he says he enjoys because it gives him an opportunity to help and interact with fellow students while ensuring a good link between students and staff.

๐Ÿ—จ๏ธHis message to aspiring students:
"To those who want to study at MCA, they should not hesitate to apply and come to MCA to experience and pursue their studies at this nice place. I don't regret joining MCA and pursuing BMPR, soon I will be a Marketing and Public Relations professional."

Jastone believes that the knowledge and skills he has gained will help him achieve his goal of becoming self-reliant in an increasingly competitive job market.
