JANUARY 2015 INTAKE
The Malawi Institute of Tourism is a Training Institution recognized for providing training in the Tourism and Hospitality industry.
It runs Diploma programmes , Certificate Programmes, Short courses and Tailor-made courses for the Industry.
The institute invites applications’ for non residential courses for the January, 2015 intake in the following programmes:-
1. DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY & TOURISM MANAGEMENT
Duration : 3 Years
Location : Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT) Blantyre
Course Structure : 3 terms including 3 months Industrial learning in the
Hospitality Industry
Fees : MK 250,000.00 per year payable on registration
Entry Requirements : MSCE with 2 Credits including English
Other Requirements : 2 sets of standard MIT uniform and professional chefs’

2. DIPLOMA IN TRAVEL & TOURISM MANAGEMENT
Duration : 3 Years
Location : Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT) Blantyre
Course Structure : 3 terms including 3 months Industrial learning in the
Tourism Industry
Fees : MK 250,000.00 per year payable on registration
Entry Requirements : MSCE with 2 Credits including English
Other Requirements : 2 sets of standard MIT uniform
Commencing Date : 26th January, 2015
3.DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY & TOURISM MANAGEMENT(Upgrading)Weekend or Evening Classes
Duration : 2 Years
Location : Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT) Blantyre
Course Structure : 3 terms
Fees : MK 250,000.00 per year payable on registration
Entry Requirements : MSCE and a certificate in any Hospitality course and a minimum
of two years working in the Hospitality industry
Other Requirements : A set of professional chefs’ uniform
Commencing Date : 26th Janaury , 2015
4. DIPLOMA IN TRAVEL & TOURISM MANAGEMENT (upgrading) Weekend or Evening classes
Duration : 2 Years
Location : Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT) Blantyre
Course Structure : 3 terms
Fees : MK 250,000.00 per year payable on registration
Entry Requirements : MSCE and a certificate in any travel and tourism course plus a
Minimum of two years work experience in the Tourism industry

5. DIPLOMA IN FOOD PRODUCTION
Duration : 2 Years 6 months

Course Structure : 3 terms including 6 months Industrial learning in the
Hospitality Industry
Fees : MK250, 000.00 payable on registration
Entry Requirements : MSCE with 2 Credits including English

6. CERTIFICATE IN HOTEL MANAGEMENT
Duration : 1 Year 6 months

7. IATA / UFTAA FOUNDATION DIPLOMA IN INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL & TOURISM LEVEL 1
Duration : 9 Months
Location : Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT) Blantyre
Course Structure : 2 terms
Fees : MK 85, 000.00 payable on registration to MIT
Registration/ Exam Fess: Students are required to pay registration and Exam Fees to the Examining body IATA/UFTAA by 31st May, 2015 for September, 2015 Examinations.
Entry Requirements : MSCE with 2 Credits including English
Other Requirements : 2 sets of standard MIT uniform

8. IATA / UFTAA CONSULTANT DIPLOMA IN INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL & TOURISM LEVEL II
Duration : 9 Months
Location : Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT) Blantyre
Course Structure : 2 terms
Fees : MK 85,000.00 payable on registration to MIT
Registration/ Exam Fess: Students are required to pay registration and Exam Fees to the Examining body IATA/UFTAA by 31st May, 2015 for September, 2015 Examinations.
Entry Requirements : IATA Foundation Diploma Level 1; MSCE with at least 2
Credits including English
Other Requirements : 2 sets of standard MIT uniform
Commencing Date : 26th January, 2015
Application forms are available at the reception of Mzuzu lodge in Mzuzu; Lingadzi Inn in Lilongwe and The Malawi Institute of Tourism ( Alendo Hotel)in Blantyre at a non refundable processing fees of MK 3000.00.
Completed application forms attached with photocopies of certificates should be dropped at the Mzuzu Lodge, Lingadzi Inn and Malawi Institute of Tourism or should be addressed to:

Closing Date of Applications is 12th December, 2014. Interviews will be conducted in Blantyre, on 15th and 16h December; Lingadzi Inn 17th and 18th December and Mzuzu 19th December 2014.
NB: Applicants for Upgrading courses must indicate on the form whether they are registering for Weekend or Evening classes. Applicants for Upgrading courses will not attend interviews.
