Environmental Management knowledge available to everyone and for
everyone for sustainable and socioeconomic development of Malawi and
beyond. To develop data rescue applications and systems and make these
available for the National development in support of the Disaster Risk
Management Policy. To make these systems and applications available
for use by anyone with a vested interest-from the Meteorologist,
Environmental science researcher, the education world, the farmer and
the common man. Vision : CCCEM’s vision is therefore to be the leading organizations in linking
environmental institutions; to learn, educate, and build capacity and
share knowledge towards best practice guidelines for improved climate
risk management so as to eradicate extreme hunger, poverty and
deceases. Motto : Bringing Meteorological and Environmental Management Knowledge to
everyone. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Goals
Climate Change:
CCCEM will address the effects of climate change in rural and urban communities. Contribute to climate change research work:
Create an enabling environment for scientists, researchers and the education world in the country and
beyond to carry on their research without delays. Improvement of lives of farmers and the communities:
CCCEM will also contribute towards improvements of livelihoods of farmers and impoverished
community members, and the most vulnerable in the community especially in rural areas due to the
effects of Climate Change. Objectives
 Collaborate with partners in climate change and Meteorological/Environmental Data rescue and
Digitization and disaster risk reduction management.
 Environmental data rescue:
Rescue old weather and climatic data from independent/voluntary weather stations for use by
Scientists, Researchers, and the education world and making this data available to the Department
of Climate Change in updating the country’s national climate data base.
 Execute education awareness campaigns on weather and climate as regards to the changing
climate (Climate Change) as evidenced by the United Nations Agency (UNFCCC).
 Enhancing community resilience and adaptation programs through technology based intervention.
 To capacity build all stakeholders in independent/voluntary weather/rainfall observations so that
their data becomes standardized reliable and made available nationally, regionally and globally.
 To link weather/rainfall stations that do not communicate with the Department of Climate Change
and Meteorological Services in disseminating their weather and climate information so that
adverse effects of climate change may be addressed effectively and in continuation of Data
Rescue and Digitisation.
 To share the climatic information to various sectors of the economy, such as Agriculture, Water,
Energy, Health and Tourism for use before it is too late following agreed government standing
policies.
 In full support of government commitment in fulfilling the National Adaptation Programs of
Action (NAPA) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
 To improve food security through production and diversification and sensitize the communities in
collaboration with Agricultural experts for farmers to plant drought resistant crops.
 To improve access to safe water, Sanitation, hygiene and environment management. All of the above will be done in support of all relevant Government standing policies and in a
working relationship/partnership with concerned stakeholders. VALUES
