In today’s world, when you can learn anything and do anything without permission, the greatest thing you can do is play dumb. Take the risk even if people think you’re crazy.

How to speak so that people take notes

Learning, continuous learning is the key to excellence. Be intentional about it, learn from every person regardless of their background, open your eyes and ears to see and hear what others don’t. Open your heart to feel the instincts of your gut feeling. Keep on learning and you’ll never be bothered by other people’s opinions about you. Be your own cheerleader 📣!

When duty calls, I dress up and show up. The night I showed up to deliver a keynote speech at the 2025 Old Mutual Malawi Sales Gala Dinner. The night I left the audience with a SMILE on their faces. Incredible and unforgettable.

If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants - Isaac Newton

Being an adventurous person and a risk taker, in 2015, I made a bold step to learn from the best and I first chose Les Brown, among others. Why? During the National Achievers Congress in 2014, he talked about the power of your story to a huge audience that gathered in an auditorium in Midrand, South Africa. His confidence, eloquence, sense of humor and exceptional presentation skills caught my attention and I told myself I want to be like this man.

Then in 2015 I had the second encounter with Les Brown, in Rosebank, South Africa, this time he took us through the power of story program. A manageable and smaller group. We learnt a lot of stuff from him and he made it a point that each one of us create and present our own stories.

After everyone had presented their stories, my turn came. I did present my story confidently and it did captivate the audience. Before leaving the podium, Les Brown came to shake my hand and told me, young man, your confidence will take you far, use it to make a difference in other people’s lives. I asked him how? He said young man, when you return home, join Toastmasters International. With Toastmasters, you will improve your communication and leadership skills.

Today I am a Public Speaking Mastery Coach, an Author, Corporate Trainer and Keynote Speaker because I chose to learn from the best. I am making a difference in people’s lives by helping them conquer their fears as a coach, and helping companies improve their teams productivity because I chose to be a lifetime learner.

You too can do it, what’s stopping you? Find your passion and purpose. With these two known, ask someone to help you live your own life. You matter, you are a legend and never settle for less.
