𝐒𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐋𝐋 (𝐒𝐂𝐈𝟒𝐎) 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐓 𝐌𝐋𝐖 𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

SCI4O was proud to participate in Innovation Week 2026, hosted by the MLW Innovation Hub from 29 - 31 July under the theme "𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲: 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬".

Through our SCI4O Innovation Club at Dzenje CDSS, students showcased locally developed innovations, including an electric doorbell and a prototype flood-alert system. At the same time, their teacher demonstrated how locally available materials can be used to create practical science teaching aids.

We also celebrated a major milestone through our SCI4O Alumni Innovation Programme. Out of 40 applicants, three SCI4O teams were selected to pitch, and two secured second and third place, winning US$700 and US$500, respectively. They also earned admission into the MIGHT Programme, delivered through a partnership between the MLW Innovation Hub and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

These achievements demonstrate the impact of investing in young people through innovation, research, leadership, and mentorship.

On Friday, 13 March 2026, the Science For All (SCI4O) Foundation held an exhibition at the Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Research Programme to showcase how its initiatives inspire and nurture young scientific talent across Malawi. The event brought together potential partners and stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration.

The exhibition featured presentations from beneficiaries and highlighted key activities, including innovation clubs, mentorship programmes, national science quizzes, and career guidance initiatives, all designed to create pathways for students to pursue careers in science and innovation.

Speaking at the event, the Founder and Chairman of the SCI4O Foundation, Professor Kondwani Jambo, emphasised the importance of partnerships in expanding the reach and sustainability of the initiatives. He noted that collaboration with organisations and institutions is essential for mobilising resources and supporting young people interested in science, particularly those who are underserved.

The exhibition also provided a platform for engaging with potential partners who share the vision of strengthening science education and innovation in Malawi.
