The Maranatha Academy Alumni Association, together with Maranatha Academy Management, are filled with gratitude, joy, and overwhelming pride as we celebrate our alumna Ireen Navicha and her remarkable journey at Miss World 2026.

To emerge among the Top 10 in Africa, Top 6 in Africa for “Beauty With a Purpose”, and the Top 40 in the World is an extraordinary achievement.

Although her Miss World journey concluded at the Top 40, Ireen has made history as the first Malawian to reach that stage. She gave her very best and represented Malawi with grace, discipline, and national pride.

We look forward to welcoming her home.

From Maranatha to the World: The Story of “Chinese Teacher Biggers” 🇲🇼🇨🇳

His name is Biggers Sauli.
People know him as “Chinese Teacher Biggers” — but his story is bigger than any nickname.

Biggers’ journey started with a chance.
He got a scholarship from Maranatha Academy. That one opportunity changed everything.

In 2016, he rewarded that faith with excellence. 9 points in his MSCE Exams.
From there he went to MUST to study Chemical Engineering. But Biggers had a bigger dream.
Just a year later, he left MUST for another door God opened — a scholarship to China.

In China, Biggers didn’t just study. He excelled.
He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Language and Literature — with distinction.
Not done yet. He went back for more and got another scholarship for his Masters in Chinese International Education.

He came home to give back.
Biggers taught at MUST for a year, sharing the language and culture he had mastered.
Today, he is using that same bridge between Malawi and China at FCB Bank as a Chinese Relationship Manager.

From a Maranatha scholarship student…
To a 9-point MSCE achiever…
To an engineer, a linguist, a teacher, and now a banker connecting two nations.
