Reflection on my Journey: My journey at MUBAS as a student has been both challenging and transformative. During my first year, I lost my father just two days before my end of year examinations. Despite the emotional pain of that moment, I chose to push through and continue with my studies and I thank God for giving me the strength to overcome that difficult period. Doing my university studies without my father, who was main source of financial support, was a great challenge. As the only child raised by my mother, I had every reason to give up, but I remained determined to change my story and work towards a better future.
This experience became a strong source of motivation. I believe that where we come from should not determine our future; we have all the power to change our circumstances through dedication and hard work. My success today is also a result of the strong friendships and support system I had at MUBAS, where many people who understood my story stood by me and made a significant difference in my journey. In recognition of my efforts, I was also nominated during the Research and Innovation Week for the project I presented, and later nominated by the office of Dean of Students as one of the two outstanding students chosen to represent MUBAS at the 2025 National Energy Conference which was organized by Renewable Energy Industries Association of Malawi (REIAMA).
Future Plans/Career Aspirations: I plan to further my studies by pursuing a Master’s degree in Nuclear Science and Technology or its related field and I am committed to securing a scholarship to support this goal. In the long term, I aspire to earn a PhD in Nuclear Science or a related field and build a strong academic career. My ambition is to become a full-time lecturer at MUBAS, contributing meaningfully to teaching, research and Innovation. Currently, I am serving as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Physics and Biochemical Sciences (PBS), where I work with dedication and commitment.
Message to Current/Prospective Students: To all students, please trust God in everything you do, because He is always with us through every challenge and battle we face in life. University life can be very challenging, but remember that your current circumstances do not define your future. You have all the power to shape your future to be the way you want it to be and always strive to get good grades. A good transcript will become your passport to reach places you have never been. I am an adjunct lecturer today because of good grades.
Build meaningful connections while you are in school and surround yourself with good friends who will support and uplift you. There are many opportunities out there; it just needs you to be smart and be proactive in what you do. Stay focused, stay disciplined and always give it your best in all your endeavour.
