SEHAS Institute is a private institution in Malawi specialising in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) training and education.
Founded in 2019, the institute has grown to become in its own description the largest Occupational Health and Safety institution in Malawi.
Our mission is to provide exceptional education and training in occupational health and safety, empowering students with the knowledge, skills and values necessary to address current emerging challenges.
The Institution seeks to recruit an experienced Marketing and Administrative assistant to be based in Blantyre. The following are the requirements for the ideal candidate.

The Marketing and Administrative Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Providing administrative support to management and program coordinators.
- Managing office records, files, and correspondence (both physical and electronic)
- Communicating with trainees, clients, facilitators, and partners
- Assisting in marketing activities, including promoting courses and consultancy services through online platforms and other communication channels
- Supporting the development and implementation of basic marketing strategies and outreach activities
Managing enquiries related to marketing, training programs, and consultancy services.
- Any other duties assigned by management.

- A Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills

This week's is on Victor Patience Nkhambule, a specialist in Engineering Safety with a strong academic and professional background in mining engineering, occupational health and safety, and environmental health. He holds a Bachelor of Mining Engineering (Honours) from the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) at the same institution. His academic interests are driven by a commitment to strengthening occupational safety and health systems and improving worker protection in Malawi.
Alongside his professional experience in the mining sector, Victor is actively engaged in academia, where he teaches and mentors students in disciplines related to Occupational Health and Safety and Engineering Safety.

Yesterday, we conducted a first aid training for a selected group of employees from HISCO. The training focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond effectively and confidently in emergency situations, helping to save lives and minimize the impact of injuries before professional medical help arrives.
You can book customized first aid training sessions, delivered at their premises or any preferred location anywhere in Malawi.

This week is on Melodie Mawaya, Industrial safety expert. Melodie holds a bachelors in Environmental sciences and is currently pursuing a Masters in Environmental Health and an MBA in Quality Assurance at MUBAS and UNIMA, respectively. Her teaching and learning interest includes industrial safety, quality and environmental management. She is also currently working as a Quality Trade Technologist for Coca-Cola Malawi.

Last year, the Malawi OSH Policy 2025โ2030 was officially launched, and SEHAS Institute participated in the policy sensitization workshop in Blantyre.
It is important for OSH practitioners and students to understand this policy as it guides compliance, professional practice, and workplace decision-making.

Guided by our goal to ensure quality education and student relevance, we have engaged Mr. Willie Dan Soko to strengthen studentsโ capacity to communicate effectively, both in academic contexts and in the workplace.
Mr. Willie Dan Soko (MCM, BAJ) is an experienced broadcaster, communications expert, regulator, and lecturer with over 30 years in the media and communications sector. He has served with Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) and currently works with Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority ( MACRA) while lecturing part-time in journalism and communications.

This evening, we have successfully concluded our two-day online orientation. During this period, our new students were introduced to the learning process at SEHAS and had the opportunity to engage with the Vice President of the Association of Safety, Health and Environmental Practitioners, Mr. Friday Kapito.

We have started the year 2026 on a brighter note with a fuel attendant training for our client, CR20, in Nkhotakota.
In line with directives from the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA), all site fuel attendants are required to undergo training in safe fuel handling, emergency response, waste management, and regulatory compliance.
We look forward to a productive and impactful 2026 as we continue to promote safety, compliance, and professionalism across the sector.
