C3 Health & Science and C3 Information Technology students explored the exciting world of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) through immersive learning devices. As part of the Meet the Expert – Session 3, an online guest lecture was conducted for our C4 IT students by Dr. S. Kalimuthu Kumar from Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, India.

Guest Lecture on “Emerging Trends in Additive Manufacturing”

Today, the C4 Information Technology students at Villa College attended "Meet the Expert – Session 2" delivered online by Dr. Golden Renjith Nimal from Jai Shriram Engineering College, India.

The session introduced students to the fundamentals of 3D Printing and Advanced Manufacturing, covering additive and subtractive manufacturing, the working principles of 3D printing, and its real-world applications. Students also gained an understanding of how Information Technology powers 3D modelling, design software, automation, and smart manufacturing.

C4IT students had the opportunity today (14th July 2026) to visit Maldives Digital Service (MDS) and explore the real-world applications of Information Technology in the government sector.

The visit was an eye-opening and insightful experience, providing students with valuable exposure to areas such as cybersecurity, software development, digital services, data centres, server management, and emerging IT career opportunities.

The visit also inspired students to explore future opportunities in areas such as cybersecurity, programming, software development, and digital technologies. 🚀 Exploring the World of AI: An Enriching Guest Lecture for C4IT Students 🚀

C4IT students had the opportunity to participate in an engaging guest lecture (ONLINE session) delivered by Dr. Haleema Sadia, a seasoned educational leader based in the United Arab Emirates.

The session provided students with valuable insights into Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), exploring how AI works, how human thinking differs from AI, and the impact of the AI revolution on the future of technology.

Dr. Haleema highlighted important areas such as types of machine learning, essential skills for the 21st century, practical applications of AI, and effective prompting techniques. The live demonstration of AI tools and interactive discussions helped students gain a better understanding of how AI can be effectively used in real-world scenarios.

The session was highly engaging, with active participation from both face-to-face and online students, creating a valuable and inclusive learning experience.

As part of the Essentials of Computing module, C4IT students explored the exciting world of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). This immersive experience allowed students to discover emerging technologies, understand their applications, and gain insights into how modern computing innovations are transforming the way we learn, work, and interact with the digital world.

Learning Beyond the Classroom!

Our C4CAD Semester 1 students recently visited Central Park as part of their Exploring Materials module, taking their learning into a real-world environment.

Guided by the philosophy, "Draw what you see, not what you know," students observed and sketched the world around them, capturing the beauty of nature, people, and objects in motion. Through this outdoor drawing experience, they developed their observation skills, practised quick sketching techniques, and learned to translate what they saw onto paper with confidence and creativity.

Experiences like these encourage students to sharpen their artistic eye, think critically, and appreciate the world as a source of inspiration.
