🌟 Know Your University – CETE Session

The Centre for Educational Technology and Excellence (CETE) hosted an engaging “Know Your University” session on 24 September 2026, welcoming approximately 70 visitors to discover the innovative learning technologies and facilities available at CETE.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore the E-Studio, Digital Aquarium, Hybrid Classroom, and learn more about CETE’s work in enhancing teaching and learning through educational technology.

The session provided a great opportunity to Discover • Connect • Collaborate and experience how technology is shaping the future of education at the Maldives National University. 🎓💡

The Center for Educational Technology and Excellence (CETE) recently organized a two-hour interactive workshop for academic staff titled "Enhancing Academic Integrity and Feedback: Turnitin for Lecturers." Aimed at maximizing the integration of Turnitin within Moodle courses, the dual-format training was facilitated by Lead Instructional Designer Aminath Zifna and held across two dates—in person at the E-Facilitation Room on September 20th and online via Google Meet on September 22nd.
Through practical, hands-on exercises, participants gained valuable skills in configuring Turnitin assignment settings tailored to different disciplines, correctly interpreting Similarity Reports to uphold academic standards, and resolving common submission issues. Lecturers also explored GradeMark and Feedback Studio features—including voice comments, QuickMarks, and rubrics—equipping them to deliver targeted, high-impact student feedback while simplifying their overall assessment process.

An orientation session on Moodle and self-service was successfully conducted for the visiting lecturers of the Faculty of Arts on 12th September 2026.

The session was facilitated by Associate Instructional Designer Hussain Majid of the Centre for Educational Technology and Excellence (CETE).

The final Moodle Boot Camp for Term 2, 2026 was successfully held at the Faculty of Arts Computer Lab on Thursday, 13 August 2026, bringing our three-campus Boot Camp journey to a fantastic close!

Across the camps, lecturers came together to prepare, organise and enhance their Moodle course pages ahead of the new semester, ensuring that essential course information, learning resources, activities and student engagement opportunities are in place to support an effective learning experience.

From three practical missions and Moodle treasure hunts to interactive challenges, peer reviews, achievement badges and collaborative support, the Boot Camp transformed Moodle preparation into an engaging and purposeful experience.

The Moodle Boot Camp Continues!

The second Moodle Boot Camp for Term 2, 2026 was successfully held on 12th August 2026, at the e-Facilitation Room, MNU Central Administration!
Lecturers came together for a hands-on and engaging experience to prepare their Moodle course pages ahead of the semester, working through practical missions to strengthen course structure, learning resources, student engagement, and overall course readiness.

From Moodle treasure hunts and interactive challenges to peer review, badges and collaborative support, the camp continues to make Moodle course preparation a fun, practical and meaningful experience.
A big thank you to all the participating lecturers and the CETE team for keeping the Boot Camp spirit alive!
