Department of Computer Science of Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology in association with IEEE Maldives Subsection, is pleased to share that we successfully celebrated Girls in ICT Day 2026 under this year's theme, "AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future."
The event brought together students and graduates for an engaging and meaningful afternoon. We were also delighted to welcome our male students, who participated actively and shared their perspectives on the role and impact of women in the ICT industry. Their responses reflected a strong appreciation for the contributions of women in technology and the importance of fostering an inclusive environment within the field.
The event concluded with a networking session, providing an opportunity for current students and graduate girls of FEST to connect and exchange experiences.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our session facilitator, Ms. Aminath Afiya, Generative AI Educator & Trainer, for her valuable contribution to the event. We also thank all participants for their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the day.
We look forward to continuing our efforts to empower women in ICT and creating more meaningful opportunities like this in the future.
