The 12th MIBFI conference will take place at a time when the Maldives has embarked upon yet another ambitious phase in its quest to have Islamic Finance as, potentially, one of the cornerstones of its economy. The inaugural meeting of the Maldives Islamic Finance Strategic Advisory Council (MIFSAC), convened under the auspices of the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), is of special significance as the country transitions to join the more active players in the IBF fraternity.

With Fintech and Artificial Intelligence playing a significant role in all spheres of the economy, discussions on Social Finance, Legal Reform and many other contemporary topics will be discussed in the context of a rapidly digitised economy. Deliberations will also discuss mechanisms that could optimize the use of AI, not just for efficacy, but also for greater transparency, within an ecosystem that needs to be sustainable in the longer term.
