MNU FUTURE READY – AND THE JOURNEY BEGINS!

The Maldives National University (MNU) has launched the MNU Future Ready Series, a new monthly career guidance and university orientation programme designed to help young people start thinking about their future early.

The first session brought together around 200 Grade 7/8 students for an interactive experience exploring interests, strengths, careers, subject choices and the many pathways that can lead to university and beyond.

From career guessing challenges and future-job conversations to Myth or Fact activities, students were encouraged to look beyond marks and streams and think about who they are, what they enjoy, what they are good at and what possibilities lie ahead.

The MNU Future Ready Series will continue every month, with the programme also being extended to MNU's Atoll Campuses, bringing career exploration and university pathways closer to students across the country.

Know Your University – Discover. Connect. Collaborate.

A morning of discovery, connection, and collaboration at The Maldives National University!

The Know Your University programme brought together colleagues from across MNU to learn more about the Centre for Educational Technology and Excellence (CETE), its work, expertise, and the opportunities it offers to support teaching, learning, and innovation across the University.

The session provided a valuable platform to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and explore opportunities for collaboration, strengthening connections across the MNU community.

Faculty of Arts, The Maldives National University, successfully conducted the session “Rethinking Academia in the AI Era” on 23 September 2026, facilitated by Professor Dr. Dilara Begum from East West University, Bangladesh.

The session explored how AI is reshaping teaching, learning, and research, with discussions on recent trends in students’ AI use, AI literacy, academic integrity, and the responsible and ethical use of AI in higher education. Participants also explored the concept of an AI Literacy Desk as a potential initiative to support responsible AI use among students and academics.

The session provided a valuable platform for reflection, knowledge sharing, and discussion on navigating academia in an increasingly AI-driven environment.

We were pleased to host Abdul Wahid Thowfeeq for the Fahi Musthagbal Speaker Series, featuring a session titled “Win At The Start Line.”
