Maldives Polytechnic welcomes the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand!
On 17 May 2026, we had the honour of hosting a high-level delegation from the Asian Institute of Technology, led by AIT President, Professor Pai-Chi Li, at our Main Campus in Malé.
The delegation toured our active workshops and studios — including our Marine Engineering, Automotive, Mechatronics, Renewable Energy, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Architecture, and Fashion Design facilities — where they witnessed our students in hands-on practical training.
During the courtesy meeting, both institutions discussed exciting areas of potential collaboration including:
· Technical & Vocational Education and Training (TVET)
· Skills development for educators and staff
· Institutional capacity building
· Curriculum development
· Providing expertise for expansion of programmes to Bachelor's level
· Short, medium and long-term training partnerships
AIT introduced their world-class academic, professional and executive education programmes, and both institutions expressed strong commitment to formalising a partnership.
We look forward to a meaningful and impactful collaboration with AIT — one that will open new doors for our students, staff, and the nation
