Shravan Putrada Ekadashi - Sun 23 Aug 2026

Shravana Putrada Ekadashi, also known as Pavitropana Ekadashi or Pavitra Ekadashi, is observed during the Shukla Paksha of Shravan Maas.

Putrada Ekadashi is observed twice a year: once during the Shukla Paksha of Pausha Maas and once during the Shukla Paksha of Shravan Maas.

The word “Putrada” means “the giver of a son/offspring.” Traditionally, this Ekadashi is believed to bless childless couples with the gift of progeny.

Couples facing difficulties in having children may observe this Ekadashi with faith, devotion and dedication, seeking the blessings of Bhagavan Shri Hari Vishnu.

Observing Putrada Ekadashi with devotion is traditionally believed to bestow good health, family happiness, prosperity, good fortune and peace.

Jhulan Yatra begins on Shravan Shukla Ekadashi (Pavitropana Ekadashi) and concludes on Shravan Purnima.

Jhulan Yatra is a beautiful Vaishnava festival in which devotees lovingly place Shri Radha-Krishna on a decorated swing (jhula) and offer prayers, kirtan and devotional seva, celebrating Their divine pastimes and seeking Their blessings.

This joyful monsoon festival celebrates the divine swinging pastimes of Shri Radha and Shri Krishna, with devotees lovingly placing the Divine Couple on beautifully decorated swings and offering prayers, kirtan and devotional seva.

Jai Sri Hari

🌕 Guru Purnima - 29 July 2026

Guru Purnima is celebrated on the Purnima (Full Moon) Tithi of the month of Ashadha.

It is a deeply revered occasion dedicated to honoring and expressing our heartfelt gratitude to the Guru, who leads us from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge, wisdom, and divine realization.

The word “Guru” itself reveals its profound meaning:
“Gu” signifies the darkness of ignorance, and “Ru” means the remover.
Thus, a Guru is the one who removes the darkness of ignorance and illumines the path of truth.

This sacred day is also known as Vyasa Purnima, as it marks the appearance day of Sri Ved Vyasa Ji, the compiler of the Vedas, author of the Mahabharata, and one of the greatest sages in Sanatan Dharma.

Guru Purnima celebrates the timeless Guru–Shishya Parampara, the sacred tradition in which disciples express their gratitude and acknowledge the immeasurable debt they owe to their Gurus for imparting knowledge, values, and spiritual guidance.

Many of the challenges and crises facing the world today arise because humanity has drifted away from the eternal Guru-disciple tradition, which nurtures character, discipline, righteousness, and spiritual wisdom.

Accepting a Sadguru on this auspicious day is considered highly meritorious and spiritually rewarding.

How to Celebrate Guru Purnima

Offer Puja to Sri Ved Vyasa Ji.

Place your Guru’s Paduka on a beautifully decorated Asana.

Offer Chandan, flowers, Dhoop, and Deep to the Guru Paduka.

Recite the Guru-Gita from Sri Ramcharitmanas.

Perform Aarti and offer Pushpanjali.

If possible, meet your Guru personally, perform Guru Puja, offer Bhog and Daan, and seek his divine blessings.

May the blessings of Sri Guru illuminate our lives with wisdom, devotion, humility, and the grace of Sri Hari.

Jai Shri Hari 🙏

Sri Jagannath Ratha Yatra Mahotsav:
Thurs 16 July – Fri 24 July 2026

Sri Jagannath Ratha Yatra is one of the most sacred and joyous festivals of Sanatan Dharma.

It is observed annually during the month of Ashadha (June-July), more precisely from Ashadha Maas Shukla Dwitiya to Ashadha Maas Shukla Dashami, commemorating the divine journey of Sri Jagannath, Sri Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra from the Jagannath Mandir to the Gundicha Mandir in Jagannath Puri.

During this Mahotsav, the divine murtis are placed on three magnificent chariots and taken in a grand procession, allowing millions of devotees the rare opportunity to have close darshan of Bhagavan Jaganath.

The sacred wooden murtis of Sri Jagannath, Sri Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra are traditionally carved from Neem wood.

Their unique appearance: with large round eyes and the absence of visible hands and legs, is deeply symbolic, reminding us that the Supreme Lord is beyond all material limitations and lovingly embraces all beings.

Vaishnavas worship Sri Jagannath as the compassionate form of Bhagavan Sri Krishna, and tradition holds that the divine essence (Brahma Padartha) of Sri Krishna resides within the sacred murti.

Two beautiful traditions associated with Sri Jagannath

1. King Indradyumna and Vishwakarma

Bhagavan instructed King Indradyumna to carve His deity from a divine log that would wash ashore at Puri. Vishwakarma accepted the task on the condition that he would not be disturbed. However, when the sounds of carving suddenly stopped, the anxious Queen opened the door before the work was complete. Vishwakarma disappeared, leaving the murtis in their unique unfinished form. Sage Narada later revealed that this was indeed the Lord’s desired eternal form.

2. Krishna Listening to the Gopis

Another beloved tradition explains that Sri Krishna, Balrama, and Subhadra once listened to the Gopis speaking about Krishna’s divine pastimes. As They became overwhelmed with ecstatic love, Their eyes widened, Their smiles broadened, and Their limbs withdrew into Their bodies. This transcendental state is reflected in the distinctive forms of Sri Jagannath, Sri Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.

Babaji’s Recommendations During Ratha Yatra -

During these sacred days, Babaji recommends that devotees:

- Should Place a picture or murti of Sri Jagannath, Sri Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra on the puja altar.

- Offer daily flowers, Tulsi-patra, Panchmeva, dhoop, and a ghee lamp.

- Recite the Sri Jagannath Ashtakam every day.

- Perform daily Aarti to Sri Jagannath, Sri Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.

- Organise Sri Jagannath Katha and Satsang at home with family and friends.

- On Ashadha Shukla Dashami (Fri 24 July 2026), prepare and offer bhog consisting of dal, rice, leafy green vegetables (bhaajee), dahi, kheer, and khaja, and lovingly distribute Maha Prasad to as many devotees as possible.

May the merciful Bhagavan Jagannath shower His divine grace upon all and bless every home with devotion, peace, prosperity, and the gift of loving service.

Jai Jagannath! 🙏
Jai Shri Hari!

Jai Sri Hari

Gayatree Jayanti & Nirjala (Bhimseni) Ekadashi - Thurs, 25 June 2026

Gayatri Jayanti, coinciding with Jyestha Maas Shukla Paksha Nirjala Ekadashi, is observed on the eleventh day (Ekadashi) of the bright fortnight of the month of Jyeshtha.

This sacred day celebrates Maa Gayatree, the Mother of the Vedas, and is dedicated to the chanting of the divine Gayatree Mantra, which purifies the mind, enhances wisdom, and awakens spiritual consciousness.

Gayatree Maa is knowledge personified. The four Vedas are believed to have emanated from the Gayatree Mantra:

* Rig Veda emanated from: Aum Bhur Bhuvah Svah
* Yajur Veda emanated from: Tat Savitur Varenyam
* Sama Veda emanated from: Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi
* Atharva Veda emanated from: Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat

An extraordinary connection exists between the Valmiki Ramayana and the Gayatree Mantra. The Valmiki Ramayana contains exactly 24,000 verses, and the Gayatree Mantra consists of 24 syllables. It is said that the first letter of every thousandth verse combines to form the complete Gayatree Mantra, demonstrating the profound spiritual relationship between the two.

Traditionally, the Gayatree Mantra must be received through Guru-Mukha (from the mouth of a Guru) through the sacred process of Guru-Diksha.

Guru-Diksha is believed to awaken the spiritual potency (Siddhi) of the mantra through the blessings and grace of the Guru.

The Gayatree Mantra is recited three times daily:

* Morning (Pratah Sandhya)
* Midday (Madhyahna Sandhya)
* Evening (Sayam Sandhya)

Regular recitation of the Gayatree Mantra bestows:

* Intelligence and wisdom
* Righteousness and noble character
* Worldly prosperity and comforts
* Spiritual upliftment
* Self-confidence
* Discipline and inner strength

On Gayatree Jayanti, devotees are encouraged to:

* Seek Guru-Diksha
* Chant at least one mala of the Gayatree Mantra
* Perform Gayatree Yagya or Havan
* Offer Dakshina, Daan, or Seva to one’s Guru or a worthy Brahmana

Nirjala (Bhimseni) Ekadashi

Nirjala Ekadashi is dedicated to Sri Hari Vishnu and is regarded as the most austere and rewarding of all Ekadashi fasts. Devotees abstain from both food and water for the entire day.

Also known as Bhimseni Ekadashi, it derives its name from Bhima, the second of the Pandava brothers. According to the Mahabharata, Bhima found it difficult to observe all Ekadashi fasts throughout the year. Therefore, Maharishi Vyasa instructed him to faithfully observe this one Ekadashi, through which he would receive the spiritual merit of observing all twenty-four annual Ekadashis.

Devotees commence the waterless fast at sunrise on Ekadashi and break it on Dwadashi during the prescribed Paran period. Scriptures declare that sincere observance of Nirjala Ekadashi grants immense spiritual merit, protection, and liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

Apart from its spiritual significance, fasting also provides physical benefits by allowing the body to rest, cleanse, and detoxify naturally.

Observances on Ekadashi

1. Wake up before sunrise.

2. Do not consume grains or cereals from sunrise on Ekadashi until sunrise on Dwadashi.

3. Worship Sri Hari Vishnu by offering a ghee lamp, Panchameva, fruits, and Tulsi leaves.

4. Listen to or read the Nirjala Ekadashi Vrat Katha. Without hearing or reading the Vrat Katha, the observance is considered incomplete.

5. Increase Jaap, prayer, and devotional service.

6. Observe celibacy (Brahmacharya).

7. Visit a Mandir for the Darshan of Sri Hari Vishnu.

8. Even if not fasting, avoid rice and food prepared outside the home.

9. Avoid anger (Krodha) and practise silence (Mauna) as much as possible.

10. Break the fast on Dwadashi within the prescribed Paran period.

11. Offer Daan such as grains, fruits, milk, and other essentials (Sidhaa) to a Brahmana.

Adhik Purushottam Mass - Padmini Ekadashi - Tues 26 May 2026

Padmini Ekadashi is observed on the 11th day of the Shukla Paksha of the Adhik Purushottam Maas

The significance of this Ekadashi is described in the Skanda Purana and other Puranas.

On this day, Sri Hari Vishnu's 'Kiriti Roop' (Crowned Vishnu) is worshipped by keeping a fast. This fast is considered to give glory, children's happiness and salvation.

Padmini Ekadashi vrat katha explains how King Kritavirya and Queen Padmini, performed severe austerities with devotion to please Sri Hari Vishnu and by the Lord’s blessings, they were blessed with the mighty son Kartavirya Arjuna.

The katha teaches devotion, faith, discipline, purity, and spiritual dedication. It emphasizes that sincere devotion is more powerful than material strength or wealth.

When Yudhishthira asked Bhagavan Krishna if there was any Ekadashi greater than the twenty-four ordinary ones, Sri Krishna explains:

"There is one Ekadashi the great Rishis spend lifetimes waiting for. The Devas themselves descend in their viman to keep it."
It appears only during Adhika Maas — the rare 13th month called Purushottam Maas - which itself comes only once every 3 years. The Padma Purana names it the most fruit-bearing Ekadashi in the entire Hindu calendar.

On Ekadashi:

1. Wake up before sunrise

2. One must NOT consume grains, cereals from sunrise to next sunrise

3. Offer puja to Sri Hari Vishnu Ji - light ghee lamp, offer panchameva, fruits & Tulsi-patta

4. Listen or Read Padmini Ekadashi Vrat Katha. Without listening to or reading the Ekadashi Vrat Katha, one does not get full benefit of the Ekadashi.

By reading a small portion every day with faith and devotion, one can complete the entire Bhagavad Gita during the holy month of Adhik Maas.
