Our lovely Grade 4 students had the opportunity to spend half of their day at The Ombudsperson for Children.🌈
The Ombudsperson for Children represents and defends the rights of children in Mauritius, Rodrigues and Agalega. Our students learned about quality education, child rights and met the officers of OC.

To our Mother of the School “Mary” thank you for believing in us and giving us the opportunity to worked with these gifted children. We may not often show you our gratitude or our love but you know that we will always be beside you in hard and good times.

Ten years already since Trochetia welcomed its first pupils, since that very first day Trochetia has always stirred to do its very best to accompany pupils on their educational journey. Together we have known some good moments and some difficult ones as well but what matters is that we have remained united as a family. May success and blessings lead your path for many years to come.

Le 13 janvier 2011, j’avais débuté l’école Trochetia avec pleins de rêves, ainsi qu’avec beaucoup d’appréhension. Durant les dix années écoulées, j’ai connu des moments de joies ainsi que des moments plus difficiles mais une pensée est resté dans ma tête:
“ Il ne suffit pas d’avoir des rêves mais faut se donner les moyens de les réaliser”.

Pour moi c’est la premier fois que je travaille dans une école et je peux vous dire que c’est une expérience formidable car même si je suis dans l’administration je découvre et j’apprends avec ces élèves. Chaque jour on découvre quelque chose de nouveau. L’équipe est très soudé.

Depuis bientot 3ans je travaille en tant qu'institutrice a l'école Trochetia. Ça n'a pas toujours été facile, il a fallu que j'apprennes à gérer les plusieurs types de comportement de ces enfants ( souvent qualifié comme enfant à problème). Travailler à leur côté m'a permit de mieux m'épanouïr en tant qu'adulte et aussi en tant qu'institutrice. J'ai appris à etre patiente et à être mieux organisé dans mon travail de tous les jours. Mes élèves m'apportent une certaine satisfaction et joie dans ma vie. Ça me donne l'impression d'aider nos jeunes de demain à obtenir les moyens de s'intègrer à notre société. Leurs niveaux d'apprentissages étaient catastrophique au début mais avec le temps, ils se sont vraiment améliorer que ce soit dans leur comportement et dans leurs niveaux scolaires. Notre école offre aux enfants les plus démuni une chance de réussir dans leur vie et je trouves ça vraiment formidable. Car cela me procure une joie et un plaisir de faire mon travail en sachant que j'aides mon prochain.

À chaque jour, je me lève avec l'intention de voir une lueur d'espoir dans les yeux des enfants et que cette lueur, vient du fait qu'ils ont compris quelque chose de nouveau.
Je me lève pour pouvoir leur prouver qu'ils sont capables de réussir et qu'ils peuvent prendre des risques.
Je travaille souvent avec des élèves qui ont des grandes difficultés et je dois constamment travailler leur confiance en soi et leur estime de soi...
Les petit succès de chaque enfant correspond tout à fait à ma vision, ma passion et surtout l'engagement d'aider les enfants avec un trouble d'apprentissage.
Tout les enfants avec un trouble d'apprentissage sont intelligents, nous devons nous adapter à eux. Ce n'est pas à eux de s'adapter à nous. Il faut modifier nos intentions pour qu'ils puissent atteindre leur plein potentiel.

Après 5 ans d'expérience en tant qu'enseignante à l'école Trochetia je crois toujours fermement en ses mots que j'ai écrit ! Je suis arrivé à un si jeune âge j'ai appris et j'ai grandi ensemble avec les enfants, malgré tout les difficultés que nous faisons face chaque jour ...
Je me detournerai jamais de mon objectif à leur aider à se sentir bien dans leurs peaux ils le méritent.. vraiment ! Et je ne cesserai jamais d'y croire....

Ten years with the team has been an amazing experience, we started with two pupils and 3 teachers. Our motivation and thirst for helping children with disabilities kept us bond, our visons and aims were for children with disabilities to have the same right and facilities. I've been at Trochetia for nearly 3 years,it's been an amazing and a different journey. Working with special needs students brings with it a host of unique challenges and opportunities.Being a special education teacher does not only mean teaching academically,it requires much more than that. Sometimes,it means being a friend, a counselor, a health carer ,an advocate or even an investigator.😄
At trochetia we work as a small family,the well being of our students has always been a priority.
The relationships with students may not be how you exactly imagine them.They develop attachments and show affection in unique ways.
My moto as a teacher is to bring out the best of each students because I believe that each and every one of them have the potential and can have a fulfilling career tomorrow.
