We are excited to announce that the 3rd edition of “Open Days in Our Export Manufacturing Companies” officially started today! 🎉

This initiative aims to inspire and educate secondary school students by giving them a rare opportunity to explore the world of export manufacturing first-hand.

Over the years, the “Open Days” have been a tremendous success, enabling young minds to:

✅ Gain insight into how our industry operates
✅ Discover rewarding career opportunities
✅ Appreciate the vital role export manufacturing plays in our economy

🚀 This year’s journey kicked off at CDL Knits (CIEL Group) in Forest Side, with Grade 12 students from College De La Confiance.

The visit offered an in-depth look at the entire production chain of a textile company — from raw materials to finished t-shirts — and allowed students to witness the skill, precision, and innovation driving our sector.

🎳 Let the (friendly) games begin!

At MEXA, we believe that business isn't just built in boardrooms — sometimes, it's built over a strike or a spare! 😄

Our annual MEXA Sports Activities are all about blending team spirit, networking, and a healthy dose of fun. This year, we kicked things off with our much-anticipated Bowling Competition at StrikeCity Bagatelle.

The preliminary rounds took place yesterday and what a vibrant atmosphere it was — laughter, high-fives, and some impressive bowling skills on display! 🎉

We're now gearing up for the finals this afternoon, with the top 5 teams battling it out for the win:

🏆 Phoenix Beverages
🏆 T&T International Foods
🏆 Oxenham
🏆 MOROIL
🏆 Lilmo

Whether you're striking down pins or striking up conversations, events like these remind us of the power of coming together beyond the workplace.
Wishing all finalists the best of luck — may the best team win! 🙌

📣 [COVER STORY] | Celebrating Leadership & Vision in Export 🚢

We are proud to see our Chairperson, Mrs Heba Capdevila-Jangeerkhan, featured on the cover of Business Magazine this week — a powerful recognition of her leadership and the strategic direction she is charting for the Mauritius Export Association (MEXA).

🔶 In this exclusive interview, Mrs. Capdevila-Jangeerkhan — the first woman to chair MEXA — addresses key topics such as:

✅ The urgency of AGOA renewal and its implications for Mauritius (with tariffs ranging from 18% to 32% if not extended),
✅ Reciprocal tariffs and the need for fairer trade,
✅ Industrial modernisation as a national priority,
✅ Strengthening our local manufacturing base as a prerequisite for export success,
✅ And a bold vision for building a resilient and future-ready export sector.
Her message is clear: we must imperatively realign our export strategy with today’s economic realities and tomorrow’s global challenges.

👏 We salute her commitment and courage to lead during these transformative times, and we remain aligned with her call for collaboration between industry and policy.
