For Mrs. Dayalutchmee Kodye-Domah, the University of Technology, Mauritius (UTM) is more than a workplace—it is where her academic journey began. After graduating with First Class Honours in BSc (Hons) Occupational Safety and Health and earning her MSc in Sustainability for Business, Society and Environment with Distinction, she was inspired by the lecturers who guided and supported her throughout her studies.

Following valuable experience as a Safety and Health Officer in both the public and private sectors, she returned to UTM with a clear mission: to share her industry expertise, mentor future professionals, and contribute to the advancement of Occupational Safety and Health education.

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺
Mrs. Kodye-Domah teaches a diverse range of undergraduate modules, including:
Occupational and Mental Health
Industrial Hygiene
Industrial Toxicology
Ergonomics
Project Management
Occupational Rehabilitation and Compensation
Safety Engineering
She also played an important role in developing and launching the MSc in Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Management programme. At postgraduate level, she teaches:
Advanced Occupational Hygiene Techniques
Applied Occupational Safety, Health and Technology Fundamentals
Workplace Environment and Ergonomics

Research with Global Impact
Mrs. Kodye-Domah presented her award-winning research at the International Conference on Innovation and Sustainability – Reimagining and Repositioning (Business, Information Technology, Environment and Society) organised by the Chhatrapati Shahu Institute of Business Education and Research (CSIBER), Kolhapur, India.

Her paper, "The Influence of Safety Culture on Safety Performance: Exploring the Mediating Role of Employee Engagement within a Small Island Developing State: A Case Study of the Mauritian Construction Sector," received the Best Paper Award, recognising its quality and contribution to Occupational Safety and Health research.

𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀
Mrs. Kodye-Domah is a member of the Organising Committee for the International RoSH Conference 2026: Sexual Violence and Society – Understanding, Prevention, and Response, organised by the RoSH Initiative at UTM in partnership with the Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI).

The conference brings together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and civil society organisations to promote interdisciplinary research, evidence-based prevention strategies, and stronger collaboration between research, policy, and practice. Through this work, she contributes to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆
Mrs. Kodye-Domah collaborates with Industrie et Services de l'Océan Indien Ltée (ISOI) to deliver professional training in Occupational Safety and Health Risk Management and Occupational Safety and Health Legislation.
These initiatives support the continuous professional development of industry stakeholders across diverse sectors while strengthening the connection between academia and industry.

𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱
Currently pursuing her PhD, Mrs. Kodye-Domah is researching psychosocial safety climate and workplace safety, while expanding her work on burnout and its impact on occupational safety and employee well-being.

Looking to the future, she aims to strengthen industry partnerships, develop innovative teaching approaches, expand professional training opportunities, and continue bridging the gap between academic research and workplace practice.
