What an evening of learning, laughter, and meaningful conversations at our 123rd meeting! 💻🎤

With the theme “Your Voice, Your Influence”, our TMoE, President Vanshinee⁩ reminded us that our voices can do more than simply communicate. They can inspire, influence, and create positive change. 🌟

We were happy to have TM Lauren Zhang Magada from Harare Toastmasters Club and President Danie Ah Thiong from Solitaire Toastmasters Club join us for the evening. It was great to share the Toastmasters experience across clubs! 🤝

🎤 Three speeches, three different lessons

TM Lauren, with “Beyond The Badge”, shared an important lesson about leadership: a leader doesn't simply identify and talk about a problem. A leader also takes action to help solve it. 💡

TM Ibraheem⁩, through his speech “Hope”, reminded us of something simple yet powerful: hope is what makes us wake up and get into our day. ☀️💙

We also had an educational presentation on the Toastmasters Education Program, led by TM Gawree⁩ and TM Ridhwaan. The session was particularly useful for our newer members, who had the opportunity to learn more about Pathways and how to navigate Base Camp. 📚💻

Our Table Topics session, led by ⁨TM Sharmila⁩, was engaging, spontaneous, and filled with plenty of laughs! Members were challenged to think on their feet and turn unexpected topics into entertaining responses. 🎤🤣

Our prepared speakers received evaluations from the evaluators, while IPP Sewin⁩, our General Evaluator, shared feedback on the meeting as a whole. The evaluations gave our speakers useful insights to take forward in their Toastmasters journey. 🌱

TM Sawan⁩ called the meeting to order, served as Timer, and managed the Zoom meeting. TM Danie took on the Grammarian role, while TM Ridhwaan served as Ah Counter alongside his presentation.

Until next time, let's keep using our voices and our influence to make a difference. 🎙️✨

What happens when our Toastmaster of the day Ridhwaan ask a room full of Toastmasters, “What Are You Carrying?”

Deep reflections, uncomfortable truths, and a few questionable life lessons.

Our 121st meeting challenged us to look beyond our bags and ask what we’re carrying mentally, emotionally, and sometimes unnecessarily.

From anonymous reflections on the burdens we carry to the powerful reminder to “Drop it to Rise”, the theme truly came alive.

🎤TM Paramen⁩ and TM Faeeza⁩ delivered their Ice Breakers, reminding us that we are works in progress and that growth requires courage and stepping outside our comfort zones.

TM Nasseer⁩, with “The Question I Cannot Answer,” reminded us that sometimes “I don’t know” is a perfectly good answer.

TM Zayyaan⁩, with “3 Words, One Secret,” had some very specific advice for the husbands.

TM Kamila⁩ reminded us that elder siblings aren’t always dictators. Sometimes, they are simply trying to guide us through life.

And then came IPP Sewin⁩, who turned his speech into a full production. Audience questions, interruptions, a hunger crisis involving the TMoD and, finally, a surgeon’s outfit appearing mid-speech!

At that point, nobody was asking what he was carrying. Everyone was wondering what he would pull out next!

The audience loved the show and he eventually⁩ took home the Best Speaker title🏆

📝 Our evaluators TM Dushali, TM Jaken, TM Melodia, TM Sawan, TM Kovilen & TM Nikhil delivered their sharp feedback.
🏆TM Nikhil took home the Best Evaluator title.

🎲 TM Ravina⁩ took Table Topics to another level. Participants had to close their eyes, pick a random object from a bag and describe it in just 30 seconds.

TM Michael alongside his TAG Team: TM Ludmila, DTM Hannah & TM Shazia did amazing job to keep the meeting on track.

Keep what strengthens you. Drop what weighs you down. Make room to rise.

Some of the heaviest things we carry cannot be seen.

Some are carried in silence. Some become so familiar that we forget they’re there.

This Saturday, join us for a Toastmasters meeting built around one powerful question:

What Are You Carrying?

Before we meet, our Toastmaster of the day, TM Ridhwaan Bundhun has a challenge for you:

🧩 Everyone carries me, yet no one can see me. I cost nothing to pick up, but I get heavier the longer you hold on. The moment you name me, I lose my power. The moment you drop me, you fly. What am I?

Drop one word in the comment section.

📅 Saturday, 8th August 2026
🕑 14:00 to 16:15
📍Oficea, The Pod, Vivéa Business Park, Moka

Whether you’re a member or a first time guest, come ready to challenge your thinking, grow through every speech, and perhaps leave carrying a little less than when you arrived.

Our 120th Toastmasters meeting was an unforgettable afternoon of learning, laughter and inspiration, centred around the theme “3 Magical Words” and the powerful reminder that true leadership begins with three simple words: “I am responsible.”

A heartfelt thank you to our Toastmaster of the Day, TM Gawree, for guiding us through an engaging and well-paced meeting.

Our keynote speaker, TM Sadat’s speech, “The Pursuit of Authenticity,” took us on a memorable flight of self-discovery.

Congratulations to our prepared speakers, TM Mareesha, TM Melodia, and President Vanshinee for sharing their stories with confidence and courage. Well done to our evaluators, TM Ridhwaan, TM Ravina, and TM Jess, whose thoughtful feedback will undoubtedly help our speakers continue to grow.

Our Table Topics session, led by TM Dushali, challenged participants to think on their feet, with TM Homesh earning the Best Table Topics Speaker.

TM Faeeza, who confidently took on the role of General Evaluator for the first time, TM Sawan as Timer, TM Ibraheem as Grammarian, and TM Paramen as Ah-Counter formed a great tag team.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to our next meeting! 🎙️✨

Can three words change the way you lead? Solve the riddle and you might get a clue.

“I am only three words,
Yet I carry the weight of every decision.
The more you avoid me, the weaker you become.
The moment you embrace me, you become unstoppable.
What am I?”

The answer lies in a mindset that empowers leaders, strengthens confidence, and transforms the way we approach challenges.

Join us for our upcoming ELIO Toastmasters Club Bilingual Meeting, where our Toastmaster of the Day, TM Gawree will guide us through an inspiring journey to uncover the power behind these 3 Magical Words.

Our keynote speaker Capt A350 Sadat Esoof will take us on a journey elaborating on ‘The Pursuit of Authenticity’. He is a lecturer and Trainer at Air Mauritius and is the CEO of Stonemaxx Contracting Limited. He is also the manager of Hamilton College Boys situated in Mahebourg. He has recently joined our club.

Send us a message on our social media or phone number 57465528 if you would like to attend our session.
