Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

According to the World Health Organization, 16% of the world’s population experiences significant disability, or 1 in 6 of us. Yet people with disabilities continue to face bias in the workplace, including lower pay and a higher likelihood of informal employment.

Not all disabilities can be seen. Invisible disabilities—like chronic pain, mental health conditions, or neurological differences—can limit or challenge a person’s daily life even if they aren’t visible from the outside.⁠

That’s why true inclusion at work means going beyond what you can see:⁠
⁠
✅ Listening when employees share their needs⁠
✅ Providing accommodations without judgment⁠
✅ Building cultures of trust and respect⁠
⁠

🎥 The Way Forward to End Violence Against Children At a powerful side event during the 58th Human Rights Council session, Ms. Sabine Rakotomalala from the World Health Organization (WHO) shared key insights on next steps following the Ministerial Meeting in Colombia. She highlighted three areas: ACTION, ACCOUNTABILITY, and ADVOCACY. 🛡️ It’s time to turn commitments into action and ensure every child grows up safe, respected, and free from violence.

As we celebrate our Independence and Republic Day, we remember the courage, determination and sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom.
