WHAT IS MONTESSORI
The Montessori Method is a child-centred, alternative educational method base on the child-development theories by Italian educator Maria Montessori (1870-1952.) The key concept of the Montessori philosophy is that children instinctively want to develop their skills and understanding, and that they should therefore be provided with opportunities to do so independently at a time

which is right for them. Rather than impose a fixed curriculum that simply satisfies the teachers need for structure, Maria found that children are natural learners if they are allowed the freedom to pursue what interests them at the right time. We know parents are the child’s first educators and role models in their learning and development. We recognise this can be a challenge and will continue to work with you sharing advice and information. At The LITTLE JUDY EARLY LEARNING CENTRE the education is broad and balanced with areas of learning, allowing opportunities to develop the child socially, personally and academically. Through developing a positive attitude within the children for enjoyment and confidence in their skills and activities, we try to ensure a natural progression into primary school.
